Entertainment for everyone The racetrack Iffezheim near the Spa town of Baden-Baden was founded in 1858 by Frenchman Edouard Benazet, who ran the Casino Baden-Baden - a gambling house for the many aristocrats, who used Baden-Baden as their summer residence in the 19th century. The first winner was the filly Amazone, but she ran on her own! Iffezheim quickly developed into the leading racetrack in Germany - a position held and developed over the years. Iffezheim arguably has one of the most beautiful racetracks in Europe and lives up to its high international reputation. After the French-German War the ,,Internationaler Club" took over in 1872. In 2009 the Club had to file for bankruptcy and in 2010 Baden Racing - a joint venture of international turf experts under the leadership of Dr. Andreas Jacobs took over.
