People of all ages can learn 15,000 years of history in and around Eindhoven in the preHistorisch Dorp (Prehistoric Village) in Eindhoven. Go back to bygone times and discover how the first farmers went about their work, what the Romans did while they were here or how you would go hunting in prehistoric times. Get into conversation with a war-like Batavian at one of the monthly changing workshops , or make fire, a Roman coat of arms or an amulet. “Fantastic, you experience history in the making. Great not only for the kids but also worthwhile for adults!” , commented Maaike, an enthusiastic previous visitor. In addition to families with children, many expats also visit the Prehistoric Village. It’s probably the only museum in the Netherlands where you’re allowed to get dirty. Is there any better way to learn about the history of Eindhoven, Brabant and the Netherlands…!? Experience six periods of history from pre-history to the late middle ages at this open air museum!
