Booked a table and arrived a bit late because of traffic, which the woman that greeted us at the door also acknowledged - saying that it had made her late also. She then informed us that she had already gave our table away which we were shocked at as we weren't extremely late.

Dear Reviwer51, Firstly please accept my apologies for the poor service you received while dining with us, I can assure you this is not what we aim to deliver in terms of service here at Monifieth Farm. To address a couple of the issues you faced, firstly the fact that your booking was cancelled, we will hold a table for 15 minutes on a busy evening when the guest does not arrive on time and after speaking to my team I was informed that you arrived 30 minutes after your booked time and hence the table was given to another guest who had waited, a large proportion of our guests book their tables with us and especially on a Friday night and at the weekends when the restaurant can be at it's busiest and due to this at times the restaurant can seem quiet as we are required to hold these tables for our guests. On the night in question we had a substantial amount of bookings and this may be the reason the restaurant seemed to have a lot of 'spare tables' causing you some confusion as to why you couldn't move tables and I apologise that this was not explained adequately to you, the table I believe you moved to was booked and had you wanted to stay and relax with us for any longer we would have had to ask you to move and that is something we try to avoid hence why you were given a table that was not booked, again due to bookings this was the only table not booked in the coming hour and a half that suited your number of guests and I apologise the location and proximity to other guests was not to your liking. On our buffets we provide tongs to prevent guests using their hands and would actively ask a guest not to use their hands should we witness this as it is clearly unhygienic however this is not an issue I have witnessed often. Our drinks machine is currently in the process of being replaced and upgraded however all bottomless drinks are still available and due to the restaurant now being full table service guests can request that their server gets them a refill or if they so wish they can go to the bar to have their glass refilled themselves. Again I apologise that you did not enjoy your time dining with us, I have investigated the points raised in your feedback in full and put steps in place to avoid a repeat in the future, I hope you will give us another chance here and can assure you you wont be disappointed again as we pride ourselves in delivering great service to our guests.
