Hi luisinac191 We sincerely apologise for your negative experience. When we handed over the camper the brakes were operating safely, and you travelled over 1000 miles with no incident and no phone call or email to communicate with us that there were any brake issues. Breakdown of mechanical items can happen at any time. We take all reasonable steps to prevent it happening by completing all servicing and preventative maintenance recommended by Chevrolet. There is no question that the brakes did fail on the second to last day of your trip. Investigating this matter, we found that the brakes were in such a damaged condition that we are concerned for the way you had been driving the vehicle, and completely stunned that if you were driving carefully that you did not report an issue until the brakes were completely ruined. When you did finally report the brake failure, we organised a repair on the same day, paid for the repair directly and refunded that day's rental charge. We wanted a tow truck to collect the vehicle and transport it to the repairer, but you refused to wait and drove the van yourself, knowing full well that the brakes were broken. We absolutely did not want or ask you to drive. We accept responsibility for the cost of repair and the refund of the day the van spent getting mechanical repairs. We have already processed this refund. We however do not accept responsibility for you driving a vehicle you knew had a critical brake failure. We are incredibly thankful that no accident or damage was caused to you or our vehicle. Please ensure if you are ever in a similar situation in the future, you communicate any issue, especially a safety issue as soon as possible.
