Its colourful heritage, once reserved for a privileged few, is now on show for all to see. The Estate reflects the Herveys’ passion for everything Italian, influenced by their travels in Europe. The Rotunda is a Neo-classical masterpiece, created by the 4th Earl of Bristol to house treasures such as an extensive collection of silver and portraiture. These treasures also include paintings by Reynolds, Gainsborough and Vigee Le Brun and a dominating sculpture in the Entrance Hall; ‘The Fury of Athamus’ by Flaxman.
