  • Garth was giving me some on instruction on being at the helm. I got to be helmsman for about half an hour which gave one time to get a feel for how the boat handled. (I would have done it all; but, others wanted a turn at the helm). For anyone who has ever sailed, getting to pilot a schooner is a thrill. This was the highlight of the trip for me personally, A trip I will always remembrer and hope to repeat in the future.

Seen on board- this was one design - another day it was wound in a different pattern.

Excellent Captain, Crew, and Ship!
I had a wonderful time on the Lewis R. French. She was recommended by a friend who comes all the way from California every year. I can see why he does! The scenery was beautiful. Enjoyed the sailing, wildlife viewing (including Bald Eagles!), and shore excursions. The lobster…
