Dear Rob J, Thank you for having chosen Melia Dunas Beach Resort & Spa for your holidays and for having set aside some of your time to review our hotel. Having read your review, we are very sorry to read that we were not able to meet your holiday expectations. We would like to thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff friendliness and attentiveness, especially those mentioned, we will share your feedback with them and we are sure that they will also be very happy to hear from you again. Your satisfaction and wellbeing is our main priority, hence we have our health and safety procedures, which are in compliance with the international norms, implemented and all of our staff are trained to ensure that these are applied. Further to this, the hotel also has a routine disinfestations program for its rooms and public areas and our guests can verify for themselves that all of our public areas are constantly being cleaned throughout the day. As Cape Verde is a tropical country and the weather is beginning to warm up, insects such as flies or mosquitoes are difficult to avoid and we are already intensifying our efforts to minimize their presence as much as possible, this is a problem that occurs in the whole island and not isolated to the hotel alone. As per the building work next door, it is an aspect that is not under our control however, its impact on our hotel has been minimum. The white sand on the beach is cleaned routinely and it is the first time that we have received a feedback that they are hard to walk on as this is not the general impression of our guests. We appreciate and we welcome each feedback from our guests and take them into account for the continuous improvement of our services, we also give our best to ensure the satisfaction of our guests although it is not always easy to satisfy all the different tastes and preferences of our international guests.
