Dearest Amber, Serenity is more than a physical place or a location that you travel to. Serenity more importantly is a state of mind that you bring with you. 94% of our valued guests have given us favorable and positive reviews. Unfortunately, you are a member of the 6%. I as the Co-Owner of Serenity Farmhouse Inn and Resort am always saddened with the 6% who did not enjoy the beauty, joy, good service and most importantly serenity that is available for your enjoyment at our hill country retreat. Amber, please call I would love to chat with you about your very damaging review. Perhaps this would bring serenity and peace of mind to us both. I thoroughly investigated the concerns that you listed in your review because I was horrified and in total disbelief that our precious and beloved bungalow could be depicted in such a disparaging way. I would like to address a few of the concerns you had: 1. It is less than two hundred feet from the parking area to the private bungalows. There is a beautiful limestone pathway that leads to the bungalows as well as a charming footbridge that makes it easily accessible to reach each accommodation with baggage in tow. We are not a motor-inn, our vision is not to have the sounds of cars, car doors and headlights traversing in and out of the accommodation area's. 2. After telling us your husband had a bad back, we unloaded the entire trunk of your car and hauled all of your baggage to the bungalow for you. If we had been aware that there was a mobility impairment at the time of booking we could have definitely chosen a bungalow closer to the parking area. 3. Our closets in our bungalows can easily accommodate a few days to a weeks worth of luggage. It may be possible that you over-packed for your two day stay. 4. You arrived fifteen minutes prior to check-in time and it is true that you had to wait an additional 15 minutes while we put the final touches on your bungalow. You were offered complimentary beverages and the opportunity to enjoy them poolside and you chose to remain in your vehicle. We did make a lovely cheese tray for you to enjoy in your room for the inconvenience. 5. MAINTENANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US. We thoroughly investigated the shower and there was not an issue with the sliding door or with peeling linoleum. As far as it "had been that way a while", that is completely false. We had guests who were over-the-moon happy with the bungalow that checked out just that morning. There was however a small crack in the kitchen window due to a large, gusty story we had last week and the pane is being replaced. They however are double pane windows and would not affect the temperature of the room. 5. With regard to the placement of the TV, you are correct. We are ordering another matching chair so there will be two chairs facing the TV and one chair and couch facing the view of the dry creek. Thank you, good suggestion. 6. Water conservation is very important everywhere in the world and especially to those of us who operate on a water well. We provide five towels on check-in, if you needed more than that we certainly would have given you more if we would have been made aware. There are also an abundance of pool towels on the office patio with a sign that say's "Pool Towels". 7. There are smoke detectors in the ceilings of all of our accommodations. 8. There is a lovely decorative wooden piece on the wall in the bedroom along with decorative pillows. We look at this as a unique and creative use of space. It can serve as a day bed as well as a romantic queen sized sleeping area in the evening. The bed is a custom made platform bed, topped with a tempurpedic mattress. It sounds as though you are used to a more traditional sleeping arrangement and this may have led to your confusion on how to sleep on the bed. There were plenty of pillows to put against the wall if you would have liked. 9. Perhaps you were unaware, but we have had a series of storms in the area. Due to this some of the roads had some crevices. Definitely, not enough to impair a vehicle. If this had been the case, we would have had them repaired immediately. As soon as the the storms have passed, we will have the granite roads resurfaced. 10. Once again, we have had a lot of recent storms. We do have insect control, the bungalow is located along a picturesque dry creek, we are in the country not in the city and do not guarantee 100% absence of insects. 11. After spending several Million dollars we love and take care of our beloved resort, believe me, maintenance is one of our highest priorities on our hill country resort. 12. The hot tub is very beautiful and private, as it is located next to the tree lined dry creek and a green belt so that you can see the deer population. The "old fencing like material" on the back deck is a vintage farm gate and used as a decorative piece. Amber, We value your opinions, but do not appreciate your mis-truths. Serenity is not for everyone. We hope you find peace and serenity elsewhere. Blessings.
