Nan-Lou Diaolou Tower Memorial Park; This area is a commemorative park built around the Nan-Lou diaolou tower, the site of a courageous battle put up by seven local volunteers in July 1945 who holed up in the Nan-Lou tower and harrassed the retreating Imperial Japanese Army by sniper fire. Having been surrounded, the men endured for seven days until they were finally overcome by the numerically superior Japanese Army.Their bodies were mutilated and thrown in to the river.
