The historic site of Naqsh-e Rostam is a treasure of the ancient Iranian illustrated history- in the city of Marvdasht, Fars province, located about 6 km northwest of Persepolis- includes colossal cross-shaped tombs of the Achaemenid kings with a group of ancient Iranian rock reliefs carved in a stone cliff face at the heart of the mountain with a significant elevation of land from three ancient periods that surprises all visitors.
