Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped here for lunch after reading the reviews and this lovely tea room didn’t disappoint. A great atmosphere with 2 chaps singing and playing the guitar. Wonderful views and excellent food with very friendly service.

We were so pleased to find this place, where we could sit inside with our dog. The staff were friendly and we had a very nice lunch including their home made soup. Would highly recommend.

A lovely community cafe serving delicious food and fabulous ice-cream. Lots of seating indoors and out, fabulous views, friendly staff and prompt service. Even if Isle of Whithorn had nothing else to offer (which it does), it would be worth coming here just for this...cafe.More

We visited after a trip to St ninians cave and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and the service was quite quick. The food was very nice and a nice range of options. We sat outside as had small children who wanted...to run on the grass. Lovely location and would return if I was in the areaMore

A lovely spacious cafe overlooking the bay with a good menu and choice of cakes etc. Staff were friendly and there was a good choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Being sunny, we chose to sit just outside the door for our coffees and cakes....We were dismayed by the amount of "disposable" packaging this entailed, as we had not asked for takeaway and could happily and easily have taken the crockery back to the counter if required. Apparently any seats outside the building are classed as 'takeaway' and generate waste packaging (which we took away ourselves to recycle).More

I'd already found the tearoom on Trip Advisor and had added them to our itinerary to visit when we went to the Isle of Whithorn. We had our 2 dogs with us, one of which is still only a puppy, although a large and vocal...one at that! We arrived around lunch time and both ordered the Haddock & Chips which we could have with either garden peas or mushy peas. Service was very efficient and our food came out quickly. The staff were very attentive and made a fuss of our dogs and gave them some biscuits as well as water. Unfortunately our 8.5 month old Staffy X gulped the water down too quickly and was sick. We're really sorry about this, although my husband tried to clean up as much as he could. However, we were assured it wasn't a problem. We also decided to have cake before wandering on as they looked very tempting. We enjoyed our choices. Thank you to all the lovely friendly staff that work/volunteer here. We would definitely recommend a visit, if only for a tea/coffee and a cake.More

Lovely place but totally robbed £5.50 for a roll and sausage or bacon ect feeding a full family turned out rather expensive! To add and egg on the roll it was 75p but charged £4.50 for a roll and egg separately nearly £40 rather over...priced if you ask me.More

We planned a day out on the Machars Peninsula, but soon realised the day before that there wouldn’t be be many places open with it being a Sunday! We made it to the Tearooms around 1.30 pm and were able to take a seat by...the large panoramic window with views over the harbour. Stunning! My husband had the homemade lentil & veg soup and sarnie, which he said was excellent. I had a tuna cheese melt and chips (and fresh salad/crisps), which were also yummy. Our plates were empty very quickly! The service was brilliant, both our tea and lunch were prepared really quickly and the waitress and cook were very friendly and helpful. I thought with it being one of the few places open that it would be noisy, dirty and unwelcoming. It was so far from this, clean, bright and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend a visit here. Shame we were too full to try out the delicious cakes!More

Great to see a successful community venture with facilities for visitors and encouraging that it's run by volunteers. The shop has a tiny range of foods but the restaurant is excellent value with freshly made coffee and a good menu for lunch.

My wife and I call in to the cafe almost on a weekly basis, food is usually good with friendly staff. However today's visit left us wondering if we should go somewhere else. My wife ordered Baked potato with prawns in a mayo sauce, it...arrived , the sauce was so runny it was almost spilling of the plate, what on earth had been done to it, we may never know, disappointed she returned it and ordered a soup, which proved nice and comforting. My usual fish and chips were also below parr, last weeks fish was lovely and fresh with a delicious crisp batter, todays was limp almost soggy and looked far from fresh, the arden peas also looked well past their date being multicoloured and shrivelled up. Oh dear no idea what was going on today but please sort it out.More
