Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped by for Sunday lunch after visiting the nearby castle. The place was busy with a lot of locals, which is normally a good sign. We ordered 2 Beef roasts, a Pork roast & a hot roast pork sandwich. Portion size were pretty big &...absolutely delicious. As well as the meat, roast potatoes, lovely gravy, we got a big dish of veg too. The sandwich was big, with roast potatoes & gravy. All in all, really good value for money & everyone left happy & full. If I'm in the area again, this place will be at the top of my list to revisit.More

Literally the nicest steak and ale pie I’ve ever eaten, meat cooked to perfection, gravy tasted beautiful, and the pastry was spot on. The chips were also amongst the best I’ve ever had in a pub. Beyond that, a nice atmosphere, great selection of beers,...and really friendly service.More

Every now and again you just end up getting lucky. We hadn't planned to come here. We have passed the pub before and not bothered. Turns out that was a mistake. Excellent service. Excellent menu choice. Toilets v clean. Fish and chips huge! I've got...one criticism.... And believe me... I've struggled to find one ... I don't want to register to use the wi-fi. If that's a big issue for you .. get a life ... You need to be here. Great pub!More

Thry don't take bookings so it's pot luck if you get a table but they try their best to ensure you do before they stop cooking at 8 pm. The food is good pub grub, served quite swiftly & hot. Quite a bit of choice,...which should suit everyone. Dogs are very welcome & even have their own menu. You do have to pay as you go as no tabs are kept, but that's not a problem to us.More

Having read previous reviews I was looking forward to a nice pub meal but I was so disappointed. We ordered the steak and ale pie and although there was plenty of it, the potatoes were lumpy and the whole dish looked as if it had...just been thrown on the plate. Pub meals are now so often appetising and the atmosphere enjoyable. Although the staff were welcoming the food could be much better.More

Good pub with a bit of everything. We spent three nights in Warkworth and ate here twice.Wide choice of beers, loved the draught Cruzcampo! Also loved the cock and bull (Chicken, strips of rump steak, mushrooms, pepper sauce and a timbale of rice.) Gets very...busy early evening then eases off after 7.30. This is a dog friendly pub (as are most places around here) and the locals and visitors do like to bring their canine friend(s) out with them! The first night we just had a drink and ate in the hotel. Should have come to the Mason's! Three great nights, thank you.More

The pub in the centre of town with parking nearby. The staff are friendly and dogs are warmly welcomed and have their own menu! We had a lamb curry, which was huge and delicious.

I think there has been a change of ownership/management/chef since our last visit and the change is noticeable, the menu was quite limited (very uninspiring) and there were no deserts other than scones (bizarre desert choice). I had butter chicken, it was ok, my husband...had the steak pie which actually was fabulous. The pub does have a lovely cosy feel but I feel there needs to be some better choices on the very small menu - or at least add a specials board.More

Mason's Arms is dog friendly but I'm not sure about electric wheelchair access, might be possible via the beer garden if not the front door. Not always necessary to book a table but may be a good idea for a large party.

There are 2/3 tables for larger groups mainly towards the rear. Quieter and cosy.
