Do not bother to order by telephone in advance! If you do you will sit behind anybody who has walked in off the street. You are given an order number that is meaningless. A bit expensive but that being said you can't knock the portions and quality! They do some great non-fish dishes and I can highly recommend the ribs, hot wings and the burger. Staff always friendly and service is good considering the demand!

So decided to get a takeaway from here as wanted something quick. Have eaten from here before and been ok never great. But last night we got a takeaway I had a burger which was fine but smothered in burger sauce which ruined it as...I didn’t ask for that. My OH got chicken and ribs and ate it fine but a short while after was literally running back and fourth to the toilet as he couldn’t stop being sick and also had a stomach ache! He didn’t eat anything else that day which could of made him ill so must have been this - I won’t usually write a review but I’m this case I felt I had to it was just awful! & we will never get food from here again!More

Firstly they got my order wrong and then when I went back to get it corrected, they had an attitude about telling me I was wrong. I then found THREE bodily hairs in my chips, I refused to eat them, wasted £5 and a trip!...Invest in some sleeves/gloves. Won’t be visiting again.More

This is the best fish shop in Ongar. The fish is always freshly cooked. Very friendly staff.They will take orders on the phone so it is ready for you when you arrive.

Food is good but parking is a problem and causes a snarl up in the High Street for locals. Favourite dish is scampi and chips.

Generous portions, freshly cooked fish when ordered, very efficient friendly service. Deserves local support.
