The moorings has the advantage of being in the canal basin and is very popular especially in the summer. The pub itself is lovely and the food is good and averagely priced. However the drinks prices let this place down massively. Sowerby Bridge is a smallish village but with a large quantity of reasonably priced pubs/bars. Moorings I would say... More

Randomly popped in here for lunch with my family one saturday and was very pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and excellent pub food. There were four of us and we each had different meals, all of which were very good. I'd recommend this pub for lunch any time if our experience is anything to go by. PS... there was... More

Called into the Moorings with a few friends, staff were an absolute pleasure... drinks may have been a tad expensive but the atmosphere was lovely and the area very picturesque. Food that was going out looked amazing. Lovely pub set in picturesque surroundings with great staff.

I my wife treated me to really nice lunch. The place is hard to spot off the main road but soon as we found it. Hard to find a parking space. But on the really good side walking into place with a wow factor. After the devastation of the floods last boxing day this place has done really well to... More

Middle of the road is all we could say really. Good enough but certainly nothing to write home about.

Popped in to the Moorings on the recommendation of a friend as we passed through the area. The pub itself is lovely, with fantastic views and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are attentive and competent and we were made to feel very welcome. We also enjoyed talking to the new managers who were visibly excited about their new venture... More

Being new to the area we popped in on the 25/9/16 and it went from good to bad almost instantly. The young women behind the bar were very welcoming and polite as we were served straight away in a fairly busy environment. But the new landlady/ manager (wearing a white shirt behind the bar) was in an awful state. She... More

We stopped in Sowerby bridge yesterday returning from a history trip in York and I must say what a lovely town and place to visit having never been here before. We called in the Moorings after a nice walk along the canal for some lunch and had a fantastic meal at very decent prices for what you get. There is... More

A restful interlude at the end of a difficult day. Warm and friendly hosts anxious to meet our needs. A safe and welcoming harbour away from turbulent seas. We wish Victoria & Matthew a prosperous voyage for their new venture.

I don't Normally visit the moorings on a weekend but after a meal at the Village Saturday night as we was walking back to the car which was parked in the car park across it seemed rather busy so we popped in for a drink, after getting drinks we went outside to the smoking shelter, where I met a toxiated...
