Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We treated ourselves to a Sunday lunch here whilst on holiday and were really impressed with everything about this establishment. Friendly staff, good Covid protocols and delicious food. We had one beef roast dinner and the chef kindly cooked the beef for a little longer to taste and one lasagne which was so cheesy, amazing. Sadly no room for dessert but had a fantastic time, many thanks

as we were there in the middle of the week it was suprisingly busy. the person who served us was very fiendly and accomodating and nothing was too much trouble for her,. the menu was varied and there was Venison and various other things to choose from. The desserts were good and seemed to be home made. The only two things that let it down was the absence of a coffee machine and the fact that I was charged £4 for soda water which I very much object to. Would return only next time would drink tap water.

I went with mother, we both had vegetarian options from main menu. Mushroom stroganoff and broccoli and cheese bake, huge portions beautifully cooked very tasty. There was a choice of 4 vegetarian options. We also had a generous desert each, sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake which were delicious. Staff were friendly and checked we were enjoying our meals. Will definitely be returning in the future. Would recommend to fellow vegetarians.

I was really looking forward to the meat pie but it’s not on the menu anymore ☹️ However, the lasagne I had was hot and tasty and the fish and chips my family had looked lovely and they enjoyed them. My mums cheesecake was lush. Service was quick and efficient but we were not rushed. I was pleased to see the tables were well spaced and staff were wearing masks, not the law anymore I know but their care for our welfare was much appreciated. Also very sensible from their own point of view. Place was nice and clean. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because it’s always a little cold in there. But then I should have remembered that and put another layer on.

We were treated by my son and his wife for my birthday. The staff were really friendly and had even gone to the trouble of putting balloons and banners up for my birthday celebration. I had steak pie which was home cooked and full of meat and delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Made a fuss of my three year old grandson who normally sleeps through the whole outing. We will be back.

The food is delicious, well presented, staff impeccable, we will be back. Garlic Mushrooms were delicious, and the Beef Stroganoff was the best. Well done Scott and team. Best pub in the area by a long shot.

We have been going to the Waggon and Horses for years, in fact me and my wife had our first meal together there. They have always been really good in the past and food was lovely. However for the first time in our lives we did something we have never done before visiting a pub/ resturant for a meal and thats leave and cancel an order 5 miniutes after sitting down. We were greeted by a young blonde waitress that was friendly and told us where to sit. Then comes a slightly older, bigger, blonde waitress with tattoos who was with no doubt the worst staff member I come accross. She came over and said "what you want!" We gave our drink order and she came back and dumped it on our table so hard that some of the drink went over the glass on the table. She came back for our food order and my wife asked very politely "would it be possible to have the hunters chicken with no cheese on it?". The waitress replied "why?" "dont you like cheese?" out loud so everyone was looking, she was also Tuting and my wife felt so ashamed and be-littled for that one small request. My wife felt forced to make it easier and just request fish and chips. I made my order and away she went. Me and my wife spoke and my wife felt so embarrased and upset but this action that I decided to get up and cancel the order, pay for the drinks (which we even left half full) and left. Waitress was rude, moody, nasty, inpolite and obviously had no waitress skills. We will never step foot in that place again, I advise people to do the same. Furious over this matter!

Booked here for my partners birthday meal with our daughter. Table was decorated for us and the staff were amazing with my daughter…. Opted not to have a starter and we both had stroganoff and burger. The stroganoff was……. OMG AMAZING!!! the children’s menu is really good value and the portion sizes were huge. Can’t wait to come back again.

This a very old and traditional pub and from our many previous visits / experiences has always been a pleasure. However, when visiting a few days ago we found the service of one member of the staff to be quite atrocious. The order was taken by this lady of blonde hair and tattoos, ( we have no issue with tattoos), but her attitude and customer manner was terrible, very grumpy and rude. Should we have made a comment to another member of staff, possible YES, but we were quite glad to get out of the terrible atmosphere. We do feel that the owner should read and consider this comment, take into consideration that he may well be losing custom. We will most likely visit again, but if the same staff member is serving, then we will leave.

Booked a table at short notice on a Saturday night. Arrived to a very warm welcome. The staff were very attentive and our drinks order was taken as soon as we had settled in our seats. Our order for food was taken once we had enough time to choose, with no pressure. The food arrived quickly, piping hot and was very good indeed! I had the sirloin steak and I can say it was the best I have had for a long time. Tender, juicy and done just as I ordered. The pepper sauce had a bit of a kick too, just as it should be. My daughter had the haddock and chips and this was also very good indeed. A fabulous meal and great service. I think this may well be our go to pub from now on. The only negative is the toilets are not accessible to anything more than a small rollator of walking stick, but not surprising in such an old building.

Were on our way to our holiday cottage but just had to stop at this great pub for a lunchtime snack. What a delight were able to sit outside with our two dogs service was brilliant. Had salmon and cream cheese baguette times 2 and hot chicken/ crispy onion baguette fantastic. Good beer friendly and helpful staff. Well recommended.

Well organised in view of current circumstances, met by owner with a smile. Lunch was excellent prawn cocktail and roast beef to follow. Unfortunately could not finish our meal as portions humungous!

The family threw a surprise birthday party for me last Saturday. The meal was top quality, even the kids ate most of theirs. Great food with great company. A big thank you to Scott for a lovely couple of hours.

Went to the Wagon and Horses second time with a week. Last week took our daughter this week our son. Our son wanted to try venison. Where else would you go. The service was beyond excellent. All three of us had amazing dishes. I could not manage dessert. The landlord was welcoming, and talkative and made us all so welcome. Will make this our place to eat in the Breckland / Watton area.
