Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Braw venue. Two waitresses coped admirably to accommodate an almost full room of lunchtime diners. Great menu with sandwiches, toasties, burgers, soups etc. I opted for the loaded fries and a bowl of lentil soup....both were hot, tasty and very filling. Great venue, will be returning....

We just dropped in on the off chance of a tour and ended up having a yummy lunch and then came back for tea and cake. Toasted sandwiches were great, just enough salad garnish and lovely dressing, but the halloumi chips were the best.
Cakes were fabulous. Lemon drizzle was perfect but all the tray bakes looked good too, two or three gluten free varieties. Mmmm

Lovely cafe in a picturesque setting inside a historic distillery on the river. Casual, good spot for lunch.
Toasted sandwiches” toasties” were really good as well as soups.
They serve tea and coffee and dessert as well.
Gift shop at the distillery is very nice, airy and spacious, rustic, yet modern.
The distillery generates all power from the river and is definitely a nice place to visit.

Lovely lunch in slightly unusual surroundings! Coffee Bothy is part of fabulous Deanston Distillery buildings next to the River Tenth.
It is not big place but we were seated and served promptly. We enjoyed sandwiches and a toastie with nice wee side salad and crisps. Very fresh. Great teapots - not a leak or dribble!!! Offered to refill which not all places are doing free of charge now so thumbs up for this. Fab selection of cakes - we took ours home as the sandwiches and toastie were very filling.
The young ladies serving were all very polite and helpful.
Toilets were nice and clean. Plenty of free parking.
Please note you you DO NOT need to be visiting the Distillery to visit the cafe and shop.

Organised the tour to accommodate tourists from the states. Had a lovely lunch at the Bothy before our scheduled tour. Gluten free well catered for. Very interesting and informative guide. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Great food and fantastic service from knowledgable and friendly staff. The Coffee Bothy Cafe at Deanston Distillery is lovely, relaxed and very clean. We were welcomed by a friendly hello and felt valued as customers throughout. The food was great, well presented and hot which is so important.

Had lunch before our Deanston Distillery tour today at the Coffee Bothy inside the Distillery. Had a lovely toastie with gluten free bread, the Deanston Distillery Chutney which was lovely! The staff were so helpful and attentive and the soup was lovely too. Will definitely be back again for lunch!

Deanston Distillery is a great place to visit. It is set in a lovely location beside a beautiful stream. They use the water to produce the electricity! We had a private tasting with a fantastic young man, Adam. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about whisky. Highly recommended doing a tasting of their excellent whisky choices.

Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon tea today (accommodated last minute!). The food was delicious, there was plenty left over for doggy bags and staff were all lovely. It really was just perfect and a totally reasonable price . We’ve visited the distlery plenty times before but never the cafe. We will be back.

Family brunch. Excellent recommendation by a friend. The distillery is a former flax and then cotton mill and there’s a history display in the cafe - very interesting. We had a lovely brunch, the staff were fantastic. Good coffee. We didn’t do the distillery tour - another time.

As a tour guide I am lucky to get to eat in many different places throughout Scotland & the cafe at Deanston is one of my favourites. All the staff are wonderful- shout out to Candice & Hannah & the newest team members who have been absolutely lovely to all my guests I’ve been in with this past week. They look after us promptly recognising we don’t have long as we are keeping to a schedule and always are professional and friendly.
The food is delicious- I am a big fan of the goat cheese salad (had it twice this week!) but everything on the menu is good. Hats off to the chef!
Highly recommend visiting.

Great coffee, great scones & so many friendly staff make this cafe a must-visit whenever we pass their way
They open at 10am & they do mini scones so you get two per serving - perfect to share if you’ve already had breakfast!
The place is spotlessly clean, including the toilets.
Great role model for anyone thinking about opening a cafe.

Stopped at Deanston Distillery to visit the shop and cafe.i had the quiche with fries salad and coleslaw and my wife had egg mayonnaise sandwiches with salad and crisps.I will say the service was really good and the food when delivered to the table was extremely well presented. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it.The price was very good as well the bill for two including drinks was only £22.50.This was exceptional value and have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars. The premises were spotless and really comfortable. Finally a visit to the shop to buy the fantastic Deanston 12 year old whisky.a great day and thanks to all the staff who are all friendly and informative.

We attended the tour and tasting. It was very interesting and our guide Erin was very knowledgeable. This tour is not suitable for people who have walking difficulties as there are a lot of stairs.
