Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A 50th wedding anniversary meal and there were 10 of us. NO complaints at all. Meal fabulous and service just as good. Highly recommended.

Now the only place we will go alongside blue bar in Porthtowen. This place is 10/10. Even if the basset was still open, and the Atlantic were not playing games with service/menu …. We would still go as no.1 choice. Team are great, chef &...kitchen brilliant, owners lovely, fun vibe and atmosphere and the interiors are also lovely. Love it 😻More

Wow! As a party of four with one very fussy eater and one with multiple intolerances we were all catered for so well. Food was incredible. Quick service, quality food, ample portions and great variety. I personally had the ale-battered cod and the Treacle &...Walnut Tart, both of which were exceptional.More

This was the first time we’ve been to the Portreath Arms Pub since 2018, last time we visited friends in Falmouth, and what a dramatic change it has gone through. The restaurant has been completely remodeled, no more stepping outside to the loo, and is...beautiful. Four of us stopped in for lunch and the food and service was great. Our waitress was spot on and made sure we had everything we needed during our meal. I had the Pho Vietnamese rare steak with rice noodles in broth which was very tasty. The Chef accommodated me by grilling the meat first to make sure it was fully cooked. Two others in the party had the sandwich and homemade chicken soup. I finished my wife’s chicken soup and it was delicious One of the best I’ve ever had! Another member of our party had the Mussels and said it was fantastic. All in all a great lunch and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I know on our next visit to the Falmouth area we will be stopping in.More

Couldn't book restaurant as we wanted to take our dogs with us - so first come first served in bar. Rocked up about 8pm and place was full; ordered drinks and then tables started to empty (as barman had advised earlier!) Had starters and main...- no room for dessert! Cheeseburger, shrimp burger, steak, scallops, pigs in blankets and mac n cheese - all delicious! Not long waiting time either. Son said patties on burger a little dry - but he struggled on through and demolished it!! Staff offered us table/board games whisky waiting which was great to keep kids occupied. All staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming - can't fault them tbh. Made sure we had chance to order dessert even though just after 9pm cut off point. Nice games area of pool, darts and Tiki Throw if that's your thing. Would definitely visits again - and would frequent it often if loved closer! (Grapefruit beer was fab!) Has a lovely lot burned which I expect would add to winter evenings. I'd imagine gets VERY busy in season! Highly recommend!More

I booked lunch here for a party of 8. Our plan was to go for a walk and come back for lunch, so I asked for permission to park our cars in the car park , then go for our walk and come back for...our booked lunch. I was told the previous evening on the phone that it would be in order. So, we arrived at 10.00, and a lady came out of the building to tell one of us that she couldn't park, and that she was the owner. I told her that it had already been agreed that we could park; she said she would check with him, and came back admitting that was the case, and we could park. However, my wife who wasn't walking, was not allowed to wait inside, where she could have bought a hot drink, and another member of the party was not allowed to use the loo there before we set off on our walk. I resented the owner not accepting my word for it as regards parking having been agreed; which I consider to be rude. That said, the food we had on our return was excellent and the staff cheerful and efficient. We were given a perfect table for our group, enabling conversation around the large rectangular table. So, four stars and perhaps the owner needs to brush up on her people skills!More

A very disappointing start to our holiday. Overall the food was good, however the service was awful. Despite being booked into the restaurant, our food was rushed, staff keen to take our plates before our food was finished. The coffee machine was turned off before...the end of service so we couldn’t have a coffee at the end of our meal. They wanted us out by 10 o’clock and they made it obvious.More
