Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pros: beautiful settings / experienced staff (except booking department) / charming / decent breakfast / perfect location if you wanna hike the volcano Cons: the rooms, once very nice, are now a bit derelict / food is overpriced for what it is. Prices are what...one would expect dor a high end hotel in an exclusive location but execution is poor. Given the settings and the potential, I would not mind paying more for food matching the location.More

We only stopped for coffee here and to see the view of Mount Popa. I guess it must arguably be the best place from which to see this stunning temple. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and whether you want a coffee or not it...seems to be a small payment for such an experience.More

A wonderful view and place for lunch. Yes it is more expensive than other places in Bagan but the design and location are superb. The food is relatively good and service as everywhere in Bagan excellent. There is something about Myanmar that makes the people...so hospitable and warm. Wi-Fi was free and relatively strong. My only complaint was the 2 USD entry charge when you are going to have lunch there. Is it necessary? Just add to prices so consumer does not see itMore

The staff were really lovely, friendly and welcoming and the food, whilst more expensive than anywhere else we ate in Myanmar, was good, and worth it for the view as, after all, that is what we are all here for...

Prices are in USD and more expensive than most places in Myanmar but the food was very good and you can't beat the gorgeous view. Definitely recommended for a nice lunch.

We did not stay at the hotel, we had a lunch break. Of course we had a "back thought" to look at the flower mountain from the side. The kitchen was not bad, and the view of the holy mountain is magical.

I’ve never given a review as bad as this before. My husband and I are staying in Bagan (on a three week vacation in Myanmar) and made a reservation for 2pm at the Popa Mountain Resort restaurant. It was a little over an hour drive...by taxi to Popa Mountain and we arrived just over an hour early. We were greeted at the front by name and were shown the way to the restaurant...the gentleman assured me it was ok that we were early and said we could take a seat at the restaurant. When we walked down to the restaurant the attendant said we didn’t have a booking but we could either sit inside or on the terrace, we chose the terrace. We waited a little while for our drink order to be taken and then waited quite a while longer for our drinks. After about half hour we still hadn’t been provided a menu, so my husband went and asked for one. Meanwhile other people were coming in and being seated, drink and food orders taken, dishes arriving and eaten and still we hadn’t been attended to. A few times I made eye contact with one or two of the staff but each time they ignored us. After more than an hour of waiting for our order to be taken we gave up and decided to pay the bill without eating. We have had lovey service throughout Inle Lake, Mandalay and Bagan and cannot think of anywhere we’ve been where staff haven’t been lovely, friendly and happy. I can’t comment on the food but the service was the worst and restaurant staff very unpleasant.More

If you visit the temples from Mt Popa don’t forget to have lunch at Popa Mointain resort. The most amazing place to have a fantastic meal with the best view of the temples on the mountain amd if you have time I would stay one...night in the resort. The pool is in an incredible stunning setting and the resort as well. I regret that I didnt had enough time to stay over. But the menu was really Good. The best Myanmar fish curry I had till so far on my trip. Service was very friendly. Please Note you have to pay an entry fee to visit the resort but if you have lunch or dinner they pay you the fee back on your return out. What a great place!!!More

The restaurant serves an Asian and western menu. We had chicken satay and a steak which both where surprisingly well prepared which justifies the western prices, but they didn’t fully adapt the western way of serving dinner to a table, meaning serving all courses at...once or at least within minutes after each other. My friend’s main course was served first and he ate it in super slomo but by the time he swallowed his last bite, my main course was not served yet. Usually we are not the kind to whine about these details but when being charged the equivalent of an average Birmese weeks salary and for a place serving wine up to 400 USD a bottle, we allow ourselves to be more critical. During lunch it’s rush hour with visitors and guests which sometimes stresses out the restaurant staff and the whole thing does’t look like a well oiled machine. But the staff remains to be friendly and clearly does their best.More

We loved the fish curry plus complementary stir fried vegetables with rice. It was a reasonable price.

Sorry, can't remember. You'd be better off asking the hotel directly. I would expect though a breakfast box to be available for those leaving very early.
