We had a lovely dinner where all of the food was well received and our server (manager, I think) was funny and friendly and lovely at all times.

Went via a recommendation for dinner. We were made very welcome even with our little Westie. The menu had a good collection of dishes, all very appetising. We plumped for the pies. All home made and so very tasty. We were surprised at the care of preparation and choice of vegetables on offer. Oh and the Chocolate brownie dessert was... More

TIP. BOOK IN ADVANCE. Best Sunday lunch in the area and everyone knows it. Fresh local produce, beautifully cooked, massive flavour. Go there hungry, have 3 courses and finish with the whisky spotted dick and custard. You will be so full you will need to be carried out..... Excellent hosts make you feel very welcome.

Popped in for an evening meal and a few local ales, good honest pub food that we both enjoyed, also stopped on for the local quiz which was fun. Staff were great and atmosphere was very welcoming.

Went for a belated birthday meal, very quiet Saturday evening, food traditional pub grub. We had two haddock and chips and three steaks, all very nice. The only teeny tiny complaint I would be, would have liked a variety of leaves/lettuce in the side salad instead of all iceberg

We understand that the head chef was off for the evening, but nevertheless we were not disappointed. The menu was varied and vegetarians were well catered for with an interesting choice of meals. The main restaurant was undergoing refurbishment on the evening that we went and we ate in the bar, along with several other tables of diners. The pub... More

Recommended to us and well worth a visit. Friendly staff and the chocolate brownie is well worth trying. If we r ever in South Devon again would be on our list to visit again. Jan B. Gravesend, Kent.

The food was uninspiring - we had a pie of the day, and it was just very standard. The service was very slow. The staff were however very friendly.

In a word, superb! Traditional pub with lovely fire in the winter and pretty garden for the summer. . Heartfelt warm welcome from the owners Adrian and Ian, even when they're busy they've always got time for a chat. The pub is well maintained and spotlessly clean. As for the food, wow! Excellent quality and home cooked served with fresh... More

This is our second visit to The Fortescue Arms Restaurant and both times we have had their wonderful roast beef dinner with mouth-watering roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and fresh veggies.....very friendly atmosphere and when we asked for a take-away box or a doggie bag because we could not finish the huge portion, to our surprise they put a dog biscuit...
