The place is great for a summer evening, ... or a winter night. It was and old oil (or death?) mill. For the summer eating in the garden is lovely. In the winter,i am guessing, the inside should be very warm and welcoming. The building is on a small country road perhaps 500 meters off a major road leading south... More

Four of us ate at Ristorante Martinatica, after a recommendation in Pietrasanta. The food was excellent, imaginative and delicious. My Orata was suberb, the steak and cutlets equally appreciated and the tripe wolfed down. The location is conducive to long lunches or dinners, with the stream running by and a sense of out of the way of the world. Great... More

I found this place through tripadvisor, being only a few hundred meters from our holiday getaway. The scenery is great, an old oilmill with lots of places outside in the gardens and beautifully restaurated inside. The service was ok: guests were helped to find parking space on the property by a very friendly man. The waiters were helpful as we'll,... More

When I heard that Trattoria Martinatica has changed ownership and I was a little disappointed to know this as the previous owners were wonderful. Although a bit offroad, the landscape and the location is gorgeous. Fantastic sea food, try seafood salad (with gamberi, scampi, mussels and calamari) Wine list (although ery reasonably priced) could be better I' ll visit again... More

During our Lucca visit we noticed that Martinatica is too close to our route. Since Vedat Milor mentioned in his book as a good restaurant in Tuscany ( as price and sea foods) there was no question mark in our minds. It was lovely place having wonderful landscape. If you like fish I recommend you Rombo, it was delicious. Also... More

What a beautiful setting - the old olive oil press, the water mill, the old stone, a warm summer evening and an even warmer welcome. Alessandro in the kitchen, Riccardo and Mila front of house, professional as always. The food is fabulous, making use of the best local ingredients. Exceptional.

I have visited this restaurant over the past 20 or so years and have always had a good meal. It has just changed ownership this year and I must say I was a little disappointed to know this as the previous owners were wonderful. However, I was not let down, the greetings were extremely warm and friendly. The food is... More
