Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sadly, The Moat Shed is no longer open on a regular basis. However, it does open to the public on occasions. Subscribe to their mailing list to be notified of dates and be quick to book your table. During lockdown we regularly had their takeaway...afternoon teas - always delicious and very generous portions. Recently we were lucky enough to go for Sunday lunch. It was our first time and, we hope, the first of many. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had soup and pate to start, followed by roast beef and roast lamb. Both were perfect and accompanied by lots of tasty vegetables. For dessert we had apple crumble tart and custard (vegan) and coffee and ginger pavlova. We were spoilt for choice and, although intrigued by the idea of a savoury cheesecake, we simply didn't have room didn't have room. Not to worry, we were able to have a piece to take away for later. The draught beer and the wines on offer were also excellent. Every table was taken and yet the atmosphere was calm, with the buzz of very happy diners. If you get the chance to eat here, don't hesitate. We certainly intend to be regulars, so please make sure you leave a table free for us! Thanks to everyone for a wonderful experience. See you soon!More

We stumbled across this wonderful establishment yesterday morning; a hidden gem in rolling countryside. We were greeted with friendly professionalism and advised they were fully booked for lunch but we could be accommodated for coffee and “cake”. We were served promptly with delicious delights garnished...with fresh fruit and treated most courteously. This is in a stunning location and is beautifully fitted out inside with some delightful touches. Our server was extremely helpful and of a very pleasant disposition; she was knowledgeable about the establishment and eager to answer our questions. We looked at the Sunday lunch menu and it’s safe to say we will be back to sample it! Thank you to all involved in this fabulous venture; you did good. Kind regards and very wishes. K & PMore

I had a lovely visit to The Moat Shed, with my mum & sister. We enjoyed afternoon tea and one or two G&Ts. The sandwiches, wraps, scones and cakes were delicious. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating - we plan to return soon!

We have never been disappointed eating at The Moat Shed but today we enjoyed a fabulous 'takeway' Ploughman's lunch, but as a bonus, we were able to sit outside in their garden area set amidst lovely rural surroundings. That, together with a nice bottle of...wine and glorious sunshine made it a perfect afternoon during this dreadful pandemic. Some takeaway .... the best for miles!More

A massive thank you for our amazing Mother’s Day afternoon tea in these difficult times. The fact you have offered this service and we were able to have a fabulous, tasty, well presented afternoon tea was just wonderful. The food was every bit as good...as if we were sitting in the restaurant (but without the lovely view).More

Being local , I just never knew this charming eatery existed ! We popped in for a fantastic breakfast. It's the thoughtful little touches that make all the difference in this fab country destination "Shed". Awesome views too.

Visited here for afternoon tea. The food was lovely & everything was freshly made. A few people in our party had dietary requirements & this wasn’t an issue for the moat shed who provided them with alternative foods. Would definitely visit here again.

I came here with my mum for breakfast and the food was delicious and the staff were friendly too. The only suggestion I would make is that the room lacks light in certain areas!
