Incredible Chinese for vegetarians🌱🥢

Ordered again to try the new menu for February and was delighted to see the same delicious standards provided with tasty new treats. I got the vegetarian box for two- the mushroom wontons are a new favourite and whilst I'm still not brave enough to try cooking it myself, you have really converted me with tofu! The char sui tofu was Crispy on the outside with a silky centre and full of flavour. Whenever I've had it elsewhere, the texture has put me off, but Sixty obviously know what they're doing with it! Had some left for lunch as the portions were generous and it was still fab. The aubergine was lovely and balanced spice and sweetness and as always we loved the chips 😂. Looking forward to seeing what March brings! Hoping for more wontons!🤞🙏 Still so grateful you've put the same effort into vegetarian dining as you have with meat eaters- thanks again!

Restaurant quality food at home!

We have eaten here a few times now and every time has been perfect. The food is excellent value for money as the portions are good sized, we’ve had both the 2 person and 4 person boxes and can say both of them have been great for portion sizes each time. The menu changes each month and i think it’s a perfect way to try new meals you wouldn’t necessarily pick for yourself! For the price they charge and the variety of food you get it is well worth the money, the quality of the ingredients speaks for itself aswell you can tell the beef just falls apart as you eat it and especially the ribs! The chips and special fried rice are spot on every time, they are on every menu and tasty everytime. Overall, I would definitely recommend. The portions are great, the food tastes delicious and is high quality ingredients, the service has been wonderful every time (I turned up early for my order once and they were nothing but accomodating and happy to help!) and I think it’s a great way to try new dishes, I have been a fan of every one we have tried even when it’s something I wouldn’t typically pick from a Chinese! I have to say aswell my mum who doesn’t like Chinese loved the March menu we got and is now converted as a fan 🤣 We always look forward to ordering and can’t wait to see the next menu!

As a visitor from Essex, I was treated to an unexpected surprise when my friends suggested we "get a Sixty" during our weekend stay in Formby. Initially puzzled by the “get a Sixty” phrase, I soon discovered it was this unbelievable new Chinese takeaway called Sixty Kitchen. I never write reviews but the food was exceptional and that doesn't quite cover it! Each dish we sampled was a masterpiece, bursting with lovely familiar flavours. It's clear that the chefs here care about what they do, and it shines through in every bite. Even the packaging it came in, left me really impressed. Needless to say, I was thoroughly satisfied and already planning my next visit to Formby. I can only hope they consider expanding to Essex, as I'm eager to share this hidden gem with friends and family back home. If you find yourself in Formby, do yourself a favour and experience Sixty Kitchen. I actually can’t speak highly enough about it. One bit of feedback would be to have the ability to buy some extra portions of ribs or the wontons as the kids where eating with us and another few bits would have been more than enough for us all.

Me And My Husband Have Been Dying To Try It Since It Opened And As Soon As We Saw The Sixty For 2 People We Ordered Straight Away Can Honestly Say The Food Was Gorgeous, Piping Hot And Excellent Customer Service! Was excited to try this given the good reviews but overall very disappointed! Portion size was good - there was plenty of food in the 2 person box. The ribs were tasty with tender meat and the chips were crispy. The beef was good quality and the sauce was ok, was a bit too salty for me and I would prefer it to have had a bit of spice. The chilli plum chicken looks great in Sixty's photos, so was looking forward to this, but in reality the batter was thick and very soggy - maybe doesn't do well in a container with a plastic lid?! The chicken and mushroom curry only had 4 very small pieces of chicken in it, but it didn't really matter because the sauce did not taste good at all so we hardly ate any of this dish. The rice was okay but nothing special. The price is actually good for the amount of food but there wasn't a single dish I would be excited to eat again. Might be personal taste given other reviews but I'll definitely be sticking to my normal Chinese takeaway!

Had to share my monthly Sixty experience – even though they don't deliver to Hightown, ordering to the Bench is seamless. Zero wait time in four orders – show up, flash the order number, and within 10 seconds, our food is ready. The dynamic monthly menu keeps things fresh, pushing me to try new dishes, a welcome change from the usual Chinese fare. Unlike hit-or-miss experiences at other places, Sixty is consistently excellent, though a bit pricier – totally worth it for the quality. Game-changer for Chinese food!

Amazing Fresh Food, Great Value!

This has to be the best Chinese/Asian food I've ever had from any restaurant or takeaway: wonderful flavours, beautifully cooked, very fresh ingredients, and a great selection of dishes on the August menu. Loved them all. Actually works out as great value for money - normal takeaways have become very expensive these days - and you get a variety of dishes here. Plenty for us all and enough sauce for a good portion each. Easy to use app so will be ordering again soon, especially as you can now arrange to collect if not a Formby resident. Try it now!

I’m not sure what has happened with the review but it definitely should not have been 1 star and the 5 stars should have been clicked. We were more than pleased with our food, the service and the communication with yourselves beforehand. Well recommended takeaway

Have had the regular size and the meal for two and both provide generous portions and good value for money. The meats are all very tender - crispy or with a tasty sauce depending on the dish along with fluffy rice and chunky chips They actively seek feedback and act on suggestions like including the 2 person offering. Well worth checking frequently for any changes - I am hoping for being able to make perhaps a choice or two from the menu

The best Vegan Chinese meal I’ve ever had :D

Great Vegan options! Best Chinese food I’ve ever had (outside of China!) We have had takeaway boxes delivered three times now and each time has been incredible. I really like that they change the menu often. It’s takeaway only and if you order over a certain amount they will deliver it to your door. If you are ordering a vegan box and a meat eaters box you will need to do two separate orders.. but if you pop them an email they are really helpful and will deliver it to your door! Which is very nice :) I will be eating there again next time I want a takeaway! Our guests were also very pleased with the food and the choices in the box. Really good amount of food too. Everything was hot and delicious! One of my friends raves about the rice. I don’t think I’ve ever hear someone so excited by a rice dish.

Here we are 1 st Feb waiting for the February menu. Why would it be that a place which relies totally on remote customers accessing a standard menu which only changes each month and doesn’t provide choice can’t update their new menu on time. Shameful. This place really needs to understand their strategy and follow their own rules. Otherwise the end is……. Please buck up

Excellent food every time

Ordered from here every month to try the new menus and they are always 10/10. Being gluten free, it’s always a challenge to find Chinese food I can eat, I simply just tick a box and they can always cater for me. It’s about a 20 minute drive for me to collect and food is always still hot when I get in. Would 100% recommendation to anyone in the local area!

Family treat

We’ve had meals in November and now in January. This time we ordered the meat version for 6 people and the vegan menu for 2. Nobody could fault any part of their meals. The vegan corn ribs were a real hit and the beef was melt in your mouth and absolutely delicious. We love the quality of every dish and look forward to seeing each month’s new menu. We will all be ordering again soon.

I have had a few meals from here now and they have always been excellent and really enjoyed, I find the app really easy to use and on the occasions I’ve needed to contact the team, I’ve found them very helpful and pleasant. We have a few vegetarians in the group so we order from both menus, there’s always plenty and it’s really tasty. I recommend to everyone to try it

Not for me I'm afraid.

I love food. I love Chinese food and I'm willing to pay a premium, but I'm afraid the experience of the Sixty Kitchen food was not for me. I bought the February menu for two. The crispy wanton starter was really good. The ribs were extremely tender and fell off the bone, the flavour of the sauce was a bit strong, still enjoyable though. However the main dishes were not nice. Two separate dishes that were so salty and strongly flavoured they could not be distinguished. It was like the sauces were just concentrate and needed diluting. The meat was tender, but the flavours not good. The chips were well cooked, but again too salty to be enjoyable. The special rice was, well, not special at all. My wife left her meal because of the flavour and I must admit that I struggled with mine. So I don't know what happened at sixty kitchen that night because I was really looking forward to the experience after all the rave reviews. But for £32 and a meal I struggled to eat and that repeated on me for hours, I'm afraid it's a no from me.
