Called in for a light lunch after a solicitor's appointment. At the back of a card and novelty shop. We had a very tasty bowl of soup, and a great homemade sandwich each. Very reasonably priced. Clean and pleasant ambience. Friendly staff. Would certainly revisit again when in the area.

Quick service, food arrived within five minutes. Very good prices for Formby. Friendly staff and I love the bright cheerful decor - never change to neutral colours!!!. Most other cafes have the so called neutral colours and are miserable.

We live in formby and Cathy's tea room and her new venture the Bake House are our regular stops, at least a couple of times a week if not more. The home made cakes, my son loves the Victoria sponge, and scouse are fab not to mention the soups. Always friendly and perfect for a chat

This is not just a cafe but a hub for local people and visitors alike. Excellent cakes, all homemade, a good selection of savoury food to suit all tastes and excellent hot coffee and tea, It's topped off with a friendly atmosphere and very helpful and attentive staff. Its one of the few places that the older person can go... More

Went for lunch with friend last week - our meals were served 30 mins apart, even though the food was just reheated in a microwave. We found it very difficult to get the attention of the staff on two occasions, and one member was quite disparaging when I said I'd have a scone instead of the meal after waiting half... More

Cathy's is very good at what they do, tea and cake. Hidden at the back of Derbyshires (as was), small cafe. The only gripe I have is that it is also the back entrance for the rest of the shop, so people use it as a corridor. Fortunately most people still use the front door. Breakfast is good too, most... Just stopped for cofffee, but the Victoria sandwich looked too good to miss, as did the lemon drizzle. So we lingered. Excellent quality, with friendly and efficent service.
