Staff were very friendly and attentive. The bar restaurant was a lovely setting, the only down side for us, was that we arrived at a quiet time, which meant we were the only people in the bar restaurant. Soup, roast beef, and a Cullen Skink risotto, were all delicious, and we were satisfied we had made the correct selections.

First class food & a menu that changes seasonally. The staff are attentive and friendly and the fact that it's often full of locals tells it's own story. Recommended, especially in the winter with the roaring fires!

We booked a table at the Castle hotel after a recommendation from the proprietor of the bed and breakfast that we were staying at. For starters my wife had the Venison Pate, as someone had already commented on trip advisor the presentation does not look very appealing. Apparently it was a lot better than it looked. I had the haggis... More

Food and surroundings lovely helpful and attentive staff. Loos excellent. Good value for money and fresh produce to the fore. This hotel has been a very popular venue with our family for years and is well worth a visit .

The only thing that had a taste was the disgusting sour carrots EW really off. The creme brûlée was tinned custard with brûlée top. The pate was presented like piped dog poo. Was never checked back once in 3 courses. Over priced unseasoned vile food, I was embarrassed and I was the customer, never ever go back here, worst dining... More

We was out for a meal with our 3 young children and from the moment we stepped in the door the owners were so attentive and made us very welcome and was just brilliant towards our 3 girls. The food was amazing as always. Thank you

Came with a party for Christmas and ate in the dining room which was a wow to behold. The food was very good, but everyone had their meal except me - somewhere along the line there was a mix up with the order - this was sorted out, but the cold attitude of the head waitress was not welcome.

Lamb shank was good, the building itself is really nice. Was cold inside though, only complaint I had was the lobster tails on my starter tasted off.

We stopped in here once again and once again really enjoyed our time. Great value and a quite expansive menu. Great service as well. Call ahead and ask for a table in the bar. The dining room is nice as well but the bar is just excellent. Cozy, warm fire and comfortable leather chairs. Note: there is something dramatically wrong... More

We visited just before Christmas and there was a party going on in the dining room so we ate in the bar. We were able to choose from the bar or restaurant menus and what a fantastic selection of food. All fresh and local and beautifully cooked. I had the smoked haddock scotch egg for starter and I have to... More
