Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was delicious. Freshly prepared and with crisp tasty vegetables and accompaniments.
The pigeon was so tasty with the variation of black pudding and the sole en papillote a delight.
Staff were very pleasant and the ambience romantic with pleasant background music

What an amazing place!
A friend and I went for breakfast and ended up going back for dinner too!
A lovely welcoming environment, with lovely attentive staff.
We both had the full cooked breakfast.
Beautifully cooked, lovely selection and perfect portion sizes.
Coffee was amazing , full flavoured and smooth.
We were brought complementary, freshly baked rolls with a herb butter. While our main course was being cooked.
For dinner we both had Steak pie, greens and mash.
The steak pie pastry was perfectly crisp, the meat very tender, and the mash was super smooth. It came with a wee jug of gravy on the side.
I could have eaten a bowl of the vegetables as a main. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly 👌.
We decided it would be rude not to have dessert, so I had chocolate marquise, it came with a delicious raspberry sorbet and mint crisp, on a bed of chocolate crumb.
The flavours and textures were beautiful 😍.
It was really lovely to have the option of coffee or drinks/cocktails after the meal, through in the lounge area. This is another very well thought out room, a lovely place to relax and chat after dinner.
I'll definitely be back.
P.s, the fudge was delicious 😋

Excellent service and good value for money. Only went there because the cafe at ASDA wasn’t open( thankfully) lor we would have missed this little gem. The food was freshly prepared and the lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming even to the younger members of our group.
Would highly recommend a visit to this excellent cafe

Overall really disappointing! Had such a long wait for our order to be taken, then a long wait for our food to arrive. Took roast turkey Xmas option, arrived cold, no sprouts or stuffing, one little potato and portion size could have been more generous. Friend ordered soup and sandwich and never got soup until we had all finished, she then couldn't eat it as it was too late and too salty. Service - not for the first time - is really slow. There is no structure to the staff wandering about. Asked for soda and lime waited 30 minutes and it came without the lime. Watched as coffees were being made and left going cold on the bar to then be put down the sink. Manager could be heard going around apologising for this that and the other and stating "that will be taken off your bill". Pleasant environment but staff need training or replaced. Overall, not worth what you are paying for. Won't be back for a while.

The food was delicious but we found the service lacking.
We were shown to a table but never offered drinks or a menu. Another table of people arrived and they were shown to the table and offered drinks and talked through the menu straight away. We eventually got served but the waitress seemed quite disinterested. Our drinks order then came incorrect.
Asked for the bill but it never arrived so went to the bar to pay where again we had to wait for anyone to acknowledge us.
The food was excellent when it arrived and the venue is very clean, tidy and quirky. We all enjoyed the food but agreed the service really let it down.

Popped in for lunch after visiting Huntly Castle. Really nice lay out. I had soup and sandwich. The soup was mushroom and tarragon and it was so full of flavour. Salmon sandwich also lovely, served with some lovely root vegetable crisp, nice fresh side salad and coleslaw. Even the side salad had a really nice taste to it. Great service.

My friend and I dined here on 4 occasions, 3 times for evening meals and once for breakfast. The restaurant itself was very smart, the decor was great.
The menu selection was excellent and we tried a variety of starters, mains and desserts. We were not disappointed in anything.
The staff, on all occasions, were friendly, efficient and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bank to anyone who is staying in the area

The staff are the kind and
considerate. Attentive. Interested. Helpful. Friendly. Knowledgeable about the food and the area.
As a wheelchair user it is a huge relief to be welcomed and helped willingly. There is a ramp to be put out or an alternative way in, using. A lift. A good choice of dishes and knowledgeable vegan choices as well as local meats and fish dishes. Add extra vegetables .any room for desert? The usual choices plus extra special+..
It's the staff that make it. Thank you.9

30 of us came for lunch at The Bank after having run round in circles for 5+ miles following the flour trail laid by the hare.
We were a bit late, as some had gone off the wrong way! But the staff at The Bank were very relaxed and welcoming and we all trooped into their dining room at the back, after parking in their large car park.
What an amazing place! Such sumptuous surroundings with the whisky display cabinets and the comfy armchairs at the back of the room in front of the fire!
We had the whole room to ourselves and we were very impressed with the food, drinks & service. Erin & her team were so helpful and patient, even allowing everyone to pay separately, which must have been a bit of a headache!!
We enjoyed cake & coffees in the armchairs after lunch and everyone commented on what a lovely place it was. Thank you so much to all of the staff, it couldn’t have been a better occasion 😃

We really enjoyed our first dinner at The Bank. The welcome and the service was wonderful! The ambiance was perfect in the contemporary and yet characterful setting. Everything was perfect. The staff answered our questions about the menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meals and our experience of the restaurant. Thank you. We will definitely be back!

We came today for lunch. Initial service was very good. However it took a long time for the staff to come and take our order, 3 staff on but 1 member seemed more interested in chatting to her friends at another table. Our food came in a timely manner and was very good. Slow service was the only let down.

A warm welcome to a revitalised restaurant. Decor and ambience cosy and interesting. Offered a drink while we waited for the rest of our party - our server was knowledgeable about the drinks available. Also about the wine list and knew the stock from memory.
Food was good, plenty of it and enjoyable. We shared a cheese platter as a third course and had a chat with the server about the cheeses on offer.
Servers were all friendly and helpful.

Booked a table here for dinner when we stayed locally. Started with some drinks and a starter of whiskey cured sea trout. The mains were not very exciting. We had a chicken and mushroom pie and a burger followed by two deserts and a coffee all for £53/€63

My husband and I were looking forward to a Christmas lunch but were left disappointed by the long wait for our food. Turkey for our main which took nearly an hour to arrive. The food was ok but small portions. Really needed more of everything to be a decent meal. Decided on a pudding as it was in the 2 for £27 deal but oh my god another hour to wait for a pudding! Could have took a nap in between courses. The pudding wasn’t great either cheesecake I couldn’t even tell you what flavour it was supposed to be. Won’t going returning any time soon!
