Having read about this online, we made a special effort to visit and it was so worth it. The owners are really friendly and the choice of sweet and savoury breads, cakes and biscuits were amazing. We sat outside among the quaint looking little houses and then went for a walk through the little wood. Magical

Hi ,We had been told about the Wee Bakery by the owners of the Old Convent where we are staying, they loved their Bread and so we took a little trip out to buy some. We had no problem with our welcome and whilst we didn't know which bread we wanted we got there in the end with finger pointing from outside the the shop window. We also bought savoury and sweet 'cookies' - little flat , puffy bready tasty things. Lovely. The coffee was really Nice as was Nespresso but pricey for such a small cup ! We're having the bread tonight so will update - but it smells wonderful. We had a little chuckle with the Guy serving the coffee's, when he spilt one, no Biggy he just prepared another one. We will go back before we leave - would like to try the Pizza !!!

Luckily not too busy when we arrived. Parking is limited onsite but spaces can be found just outside along the road. Great selection of baked goods. All can be viewed through bakery window and just let them know at kiosk what you want. Gentleman serving was very friendly, not like a couple of previous reviews have said. He was wearing a mask and ensured that all customers were too, apart from a family who all said they were 'exempt' and were all too happy to shout about it. They were not exactly respectful to the server, but he carried on working professionally. Left with a couple of tasty pastries. Would defo recommend a visit.

On our visit to Manuela’s Bakery one of our friends children swung on a gargoyles hand sticking out from a wall thinking it would support her weight, unfortunately it didn’t and it came off and she fell on her back, hurting herself. When she got up she was more concerned that she had caused damage to someone else’s property. We approached the owner to confess and to offer to pay for the damage. He did not ask if the child was ok but started complaining very bitterly about the damage done and lack of respect for his property. We could understand why he was upset and as any nice people would do we offered to pay compensation to him for the damage. We offered to pay 3 times but yet he continued to be angry and complain about the lack of respect to his possessions (If we disrespected his property why were we offering to pay damages) Due to his anger, the older of the children of our friend ran up to one of us crying saying the man is really angry. We left some money with Manuela and left. Sorry but If you invite others into your garden unfortunately accidents can happen. He talks about respect and that is most definitely a two way thing. This man seems to have no respect for others and how to deal well with the public and after reading other reviews later it not just us who feel that way. I’m sure the rest of the family are lovely but if you want to enjoy your trip to the bakery please, please, please stay well clear of him and if you have children give them strict instructions not to touch anything or they will face the wrath of the owner. Might be an idea to keep him well away from the public in future.

Hey there, thanks for your review. I am apologising about what happened on your visit ... unfortunately you were the last of a bad week of people disrespecting our property and business. Sometimes the bucket just flows over and I am sorry you were at the end of that. Its just very disheartening to work day in day out to satisfy people and put a lot of effort into detail and the set up and actually getting treated with disrespect which then ruins it for others including yourself. It wasn't the first thing that got broken that week and people started using us as a attraction and destroy things... the past 3 weeks we had to deal with all sorts. And sometimes the bucket is just full. Thank you for the compensation

We came on a trip to Skye this week and prior to the trip I looked into places I wanted to visit and this was top of my list. We were staying in Uig which is far north of Skye. We travelled over 58miles from our accommodation just to visit this place as it looked amazing. Let’s say never judge a book by its cover! My boyfriend and I parked in the car park and took the dog out of the car only to realise as we got closer to the entrance of the bakery, very small signs that read ‘no dogs allowed’ (see attached) we therefore put the dog back in the car in view that we would buy a cake and coffee from the bakery and head back to the car. As I started to look around and I was about to read the menu I was very rudely and angrily approached by a woman who worked there yelling that my dog had peed in her car park. To which I apologised and offered to wash the area, I went on to say I did not see the signs until closer to the bakery to which she was already storming off saying ‘I’ll wash it myself’. Fair to say we left right away. I would not waste your time or money going out your way to visit this place ! There are many lovely bakeries in central Skye which are relish and the staff go out of their way to make their visitors feel welcome. Good manners cost nothing.

I am sorry your experience wasn't as wished. As soon you drive so long it's normal that a dog needs to pee but we really don't appreciate this happening on our premises , as its not nice infront of people who enjoy our goods and simply disrespectful to our grounds. (Talking about manners) Hope the rest of your holidays were as wished for. Kind regards, Jo

We wanted to visit here for some time and decided to stop by on our way home from our holiday. We'd read reviews that the owner had a poor attitude and although our experience was okay we did think he was very abrupt and lacks people skills. It is a unique bakery in the set up and the goods are okay but they're very overpriced, in particular the drinks. An espresso sized tea costs £2.50. I would recommend if you were going by but don't have your hopes too high.

I had read the previous reviews in regards to poor service and was definitely put off but was hopeful to have an experience more like the many many 5 star reviews. While our time at the bakery was no where near as bad as some, they aren’t exaggerating, we chose to not go back and the gentleman working there, alone, is not nice. More importantly, he took my cash payment then went and picked someone’s food for them. I do not believe he washed his hands (of course it’s possible but not obvious) and he was not wearing gloves. The food items were lovely but cold unfortunately. He also does not wear a mask but makes patrons do so, he is the only server in Scotland I’ve encountered not wearing a mask. Lastly, our meal was interrupted with him raising his voice at another patron, over an order, which was awkward and unprofessional. Working there alone cannot be easy especially when it’s busy and it means the tables are not cleaned between customers. Cutest little place, with delicious treats and coffee but just lacks any customer service.

I am sorry to hear about your disappointment, but I can assure you that there is a sink next to the dore that you can't see and we disinfect our hands many times a day with the disinfectant we made in our distillery. All goods in the bakery are packed in bags with tangs as well. I appreciate your observation about working on your own being impossible at times. Kind regards, Jo

This is such a gorgeous little bakery. We were staying nearby in the castle apartments for our wedding. They did a lovely spread for the bridal group for lunch while we were getting ready. We also visited twice more, the bakery items were absolutely delicious and the location is stunning. Our two year old loved the magical fairy village they have created. Definitely worth a visit!

Me and my partner stopped here on the way onto the Isle of Skye and was very happy with this stop. There is a brilliant array of cakes and bakery items. This is a very quirky little shop and is definitely worth the stop. However, as it is a traditional German bakery, most goods contain dairy so is probably not suitable for those with allergies.

After reading the reviews for this bakery I was so excited to visit this on my trip to Skye. Immediately met by rude staff who made me feel unwelcome. Staff were rude to both myself and my partner I was shocked by the whole experience. Made us feel so uncomfortable by moaning about the ‘travellers’ who are coming to Skye. I should have known by then just to walk out. The cakes myself and my partner bought were dry and off tasting. Unable to complain about the taste as we ate our cakes after we had left. I was so disappointed in this place. Spoke to a few others at our B and B seems like they had the same experience. I wouldn’t waste your time travelling to this bakery. Very much room for improvement.

We went to the site primarily for a gin tasting and then sampled the food from the bakery. It was a lovely experience and we look forward to going back when we are next in the area. We hadn't tried savory cookies before but after we tasted them, we became serious fans. We bought some then to eat at our accommodations and then returned the following day for more. The bacon and cheese and the ham and cheese were our favorite savory cookies. We then tried the nutella croissants which were fantastic (we also came back for those the following day). We made an appointment for the gin tasting and were greeted warmly and taken to the tasting room. It was in a very cute little house. We were able to try several different gins - lots of different flavors and strengths - while getting the background on the making of the gin and the ideas behind them. We picked our favorite and purchased it on our way out.

The bakery was sadly closed when we went during off-season, but we got to tour the grounds and try the gin! The people are so amazing and accommodating I couldn't not leave a review! A perfect stop between Isle of Skye and Inverness, and so close to Eilean Donan. We absolutely loved it! Thomas is so passionate about the gin and his woodworking which really shows and made the experience even more exciting! The gin was so amazing and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking 🤩🤩 We bought a few bottles to take back home with us but they never made it! We drank it all before leaving Scotland, it was so delicious! No 7 was my favorite - he said it's one that all the ladies love! The people made it extra special. Now just wish they'd move to Texas so I could visit more often!

Really cute quirky place. Unfortunately on our visit there was nothing much available. I tried a cheese and ham 'biscuit', sort of a bun with cheese and a slice of ham on top. It was tasty enough but I wouldn't have another. Good coffee though.

My daughter spotted the bakery online while planning a trip for my birthday . Like myself she has been raised on fables and fairytales so this was exciting for her as well. The squeal of delight as we pulled up to this location was loud!. The buildings are like something from my childhood imagination and to wander through with the birds sing is magical !! Manuela is wonderful and her bakery and goods are like nothing I've had before ( cookies are magical) we made a point of returning when we where traveling home for more purchases and we also met Thomas. This man Thomas and manuela are the kind of people we need in this life . They clearly work so hard and what they have created is unbelievable and to enjoy a conversation with them is also a high point . We came home with cookies shortbread ( and gin ) and the best feeling ever after our visit to this special place . Next time we plan to visit when their daughter has the pizzas on the go . Signs are clear no dogs allowed and if you have excitable children please be aware this fairytale land has been made with heart and soul and treat with respect as you are invited to wander freely into someone's dream and hard work

This is a great little bakery with high quality german-style bread, pastries etc. Well worth a stop, it's just off the main A87 road to Skye (look out for the sign after you cross the bridge from Dornie to Ardelve. We have been staying nearby (in Dornie) and have gone back a few times for more goodies. Highly recommend!
