Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked from Chedworth Roman Villa to Seven Tons Inn for lunch. Plenty of tables available as early weekday. The food took a long time to arrive as apparently they were a chef down. Food good but pricy and 10% service charge on top. Made...a nice day out and nice pub so overall can't fault it.More

If we dont use these pubs they will go and they won’t ever come back. This pub is damn good. Great welcome. Wonderful service. A fabulous menu and wine list. It was delicious. It’s not over done up. It’s owner run - increasingly rare but...it retained everything I wanted in a pub. I urge you to pay it a visit.More

Three generations ranging from 10 to 80 had Sunday lunch here for my father in law’s 80th birthday. Good food, and excellent service - attentive but not overwhelming. We (11 of us) all got served at the same time, which was a far better experience...that I’ve had elsewhere in a big party. I really enjoyed the vegan nut roast Sunday lunch too. A very pleasant change to be included in the “roast” options, and spot on for an autumnal Sunday lunch.More

My partner and I recently got married in the Cotswolds and were looking for somewhere to go with some family and friends the day after. Simon, Charlotte and the team were so accommodating from the outset. They were so flexible with my request, given that...it was the week before and for around 30 people. They did everything they could on the day to serve everyone - they are a small but mighty pub. I can’t thank them enough for the delicious food, drink, brilliant service and all-round gorgeous, tranquil setting. It was the cherry on top of our wedding weekend. I would highly recommend the Seven Tuns to anyone and will definitely be back when we next come to visit.More

The best pub food we have had in a while. We were visiting the cotswolds for the weekend and had this place recommended to us and it is definitely worth the trip! The food is delicious and the staff know the menu and are able...to recommend dishes which is great. It was a lovely atmosphere and we experienced excellent service. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!More

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday as a walk-in customer to be seated almost straight away. Lovely little pub, with great food and lovely staff. When asked if there was kids menu, i was advised that they do smaller portions for the kids - my girls...had a lovely roast beef dinner (at half the price of the adult portion). Albeit the beef too fatty for my girls, they did enjoy their meal. Slightly lacked atmosphere, but otherwise a really lovely lunch.More

Excellent Sunday lunch - elevated classic roast dinner with some lovely extras on the menu. Good selection of drinks including local beers. Lovely old pub building with exposed beams. Unfussy and friendly service. Worth trying to save room for the desserts which were particularly delicious.

Excellent Cotswold country pub. We had a party size that had to change a few times as well as some allergies and they were very helpful with these. Menu was very tasty with good allergy labels. Driving here was straight forward from Cheltenham and ample...parking. Dog and child friendly and also has a resident cat, Butters, which added to the experienceMore

Visited Seven Tuns with a large group of 12 people for lunch. We were able to sit outside on the patio, and there was even a table umbrella for those in our party who wanted to avoid the sun. The service was very friendly and...despite our large party, all needing separate checks, there wasn’t a problem at all. The food was truly amazing and everyone in our party loved their lunch. Aside from the delightful historic pub and excellent food, another nice bonus of Seven Tuns was the pub cat Nebula. Overall, a wonderful experience!More

After visiting the Chedworth Roman Villa we decided to explore Chedworth a bit. We had no idea that Chedworth is a tiny village with probably this one place to eat. So we decided to give it a go. The food was a bit late to...arrive but that's ok as we were told about this when we got there. However, the quality couldn't have been a bit better, especially the roasted potatoes. Also, although there were a couple of vegetarian options on the menu, I felt that the options were very limited.More

We were staying not far from here and it was recommended by our host. It was a great choice. The food was excellent, especially the fish & chips. Catered well for Coeliacs, with lots of choice. Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient (and coeliac knowledgeable)...Went again just for drinks and staff were just as great. Would definitely recommend for a visit.More

Really good Sunday lunch using quality ingredients. Roast beef excellent as was the home made gravy and horseradish. Roast chicken was also available which it is not usually - this was excellent plus - please bring it on as a regular item! Service by Simon...and his team friendly and helpful. Just one ask to improve - better chilled white wine and Champagne. Looking forward to our next visit.More
