We have not been here to eat for over 25 years, we knew the original owner who was a good friend. Don't know why we haven't been for so long, just one of those things keep saying we will go and don't. We received a...warm welcome and pleasantly surprised at the change. It was fairly busy for early doors on a Saturday so a good atmosphere. Our meal comprised of 1no Goats Cheese and 1no Black pudding, both were excellent. Mains comprised 1no 6oz steak and mine was the lamb Shank, both again excellent, in fact the lamb was of a large size, well received by me. Drinks were a Bacardi Coke and a Large glass of Rose'. Total bill was £71.45 without service. Have to say were were pleased we had finally been there again and will not hesitate in going back.More

Lovely Restaurant. Took my friend for her first visit and she was really impressed. We had the set menu 3 courses for £25.00 food was delicious. We brought our own wine as you can BYO on Wednesday. Which was great. The staff were lovely and...could not do enough for us. I highly recommend you try this hidden gem.More

Food was generally ok but service and attitude seems to have deteriorated since we last visited. Manager seems stressed and abrupt and staff were not at all attentive. We literally had to ask for everything- drink order, food order and wine list. We were told...that they were not taking order so as no to overwhelm the kitchen! After over an hour and s half we had only had a starter. It seems that those known to the manager take preference which was not great as we were entertaining friends and were embarrassed at the poor service. We generally take friends to Chez Nous although we are vegetarian and the choices are limited. I hope that the recent changes in opening hours and difficulty to book are not a reflection of cost saving at the expense of customer experience. Maybe we were just unlucky and may try again in a few weeks - if there is a similar vibe then with regrets we will cross off the list of local venues to entertain our friends.More

The staff were very welcoming, only one vegan option though but the meal I had was delicious Menu did say that other meals could be made vegan though but it wasn’t clear how Friend had a dairy allergy and was told that no non dairy...milk option! I was surprised at this as even small cafes now offer this Restaurant was clean and staff were friendlyMore

Booked for a large group (four families) for a 50th birthday. Staff were friendly and accommodating pre arrival. We dropped the cake off and some decorations and they did the rest. Sunday lunches were delicious and service was friendly and attentive. Thanks Chez Nous !!

Booked a table for 7 people to celebrate my birthday waited ages for starter which fine finely arrived after several requests. the table had been booked for 7pm our mains served at 8.45pm! all dishes were terrible -the duck was tough and the sauce burnt,...chicken dry and my vegetable Thai curry was dreadful. No manager to be seen the young staff seemed bored such a shame use to be a great restaurantMore

We had a family meal at Chez Nous which included three vegans and three vegetarians and it was really excellent. There was a special menu for the vegans/vegetarians, the food was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly.

I booked Sunday lunch here for 3 of us yesterday and it was fabulous. We all chose a roast dinner which was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The restaurant has a really great atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive, but otherwise unobtrusive. We felt...relaxed and weren't at all rushed. Really enjoyed it!More
