Our group of 4 went to Fat Loaf for the second sitting NYE. Service was great even though they were very busy, food amazing as per usual and the atmosphere very enjoyable. Looking forward to visiting again very soon!

The number of people eating was an indication of the popularity of this restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service and attention we received was excellent. You could tell that the quality of the ingredient was very high and it was cooked beautifully. We enjoyed every element of the meal. I was so impressed with the tuna, which was... More

We chose The Fat Loaf for my grandad's 80th birthday meal as its consistently excellent and they didn't let us down! The food is some of the best you'll get in a small, local restaurant like this - sometimes as good as food I've paid twice the price for. It's also got a great, very relaxed atmosphere with staff that... More

I have reviewed the Fat Loaf before, but thought I'd do a new one based on a recent visit. Once again, we love this place. Wonderful, friendly service and exceptional food. We shared a starter off the specials list - crab and shrimp salad and a lovely lamb and flatbreads - both really good. For main, neither of us could... More

Staff friendly and welcoming. Great lunch with friends and reasonable prices. The owner even turned the music down for my friend.

I went on a Thursday night on the £18ish for 3 courses deal. Really enjoyed the meal and a nice beer from the local brewery at Dunham Massey. It was very busy when we first arrived at 7.30 so I'm glad we booked. Planning to head back on Wednesday some time for the bring your own wine night (bargain booze... More

The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite. The brainchild of chefs Paul Taylor and Tim Wood who trained under Michelin-starred Marco Pierre White at the Lowry, The Fat Loaf is a brilliant bistro. The open kitchen lets you watch them work. Sourcing is taken seriously – local wherever possible, excellent at all times. The menu is modern European prepared with imagination and flair. It’s perfectly set in a storefront restaurant with slate floors, white chairs, neutrally coloured walls and an array of art photography on display. Formerly a bring-your-own-wine place, The Fat Loaf now offers a short, thoughtful, international wines list at prices so reasonable you’ll have to blink
