Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a 60th birthday party in the marquee, the hot buffet was excellent (the lamb tagine was the best) and the service was also really good. Thanks to Sarah for making it a special event.

This was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning. You can eat in the pub or dining area, which we chose. We were greeted by the friendly Paula, who settled us at our table. The menu offering is varied, with lots of choice....We both thoroughly enjoyed our well-prepared and beautifully presented meals. We cannot fault any aspect of our visit and highly recommend the venue.More

Really lovely atmosphere and very welcoming accommodation. Our hosts and staff took great care with our food, seating and table arrangements, and general service. It is a really warm and friendly place to be on a cold night. There is plenty of room to move,...well laid out, clean toilets and easy parking. Food: Not an overly stretched menu, which is good because what they do, they do very well and obviously with great care and pride there was something for everyone. The menu offered a nice selection. An interesting selection of starters. Two of us had the pate... very tasty. Mains: Take care of the fresh battered fish... it was quite large and was actually not much more expensive than a local takeaway, which is interesting in itself. Homemade pies were beautifully presented, and both the steak and chicken types were packed full of meat. In all, a very nice place for a couples or, in our case, a family meal. Thank you very much for a nice evening... ad we drove away, we all agreed that we shall be back.More

Nice visit, catching up with friends Staff lovely, pub very welcoming. Food was ok. Starters lovely had the prawns. Ordered Fish pie as main, I really did not like this I said this to the waitress , who apologised and offered me an alternative but...I said no as did not want anything else. We had a lovely visit but I felt they should have removed this from the bill as I did not eat any of it but unfortunately they did not do this so was a bit expensive for what I ate.More

We had a superb meal, the food was off the scale and service was brilliant. We are very grateful to have such an amazing pub on our doorstep, by far the best in the area.

This place has such an warm and home vibe to it. I chose to have my wedding reception in their beautiful conservatory area. I cannot thank the owners enough for making our big day truly the most amazing day I could of wished for. The...staff were just incredibly kind, approachable and I could not knock their hard work and efforts for making sure our day went smoothly. The food is out of this world and so authentic. Everyone enjoyed their food at the reception, we had to take the rest home :) The venue was just idealistic for what I wanted for our big day. The owner and staff go up and beyond to ensuring you feel welcomed and contented. The Fox is worth more than 5 stars. Thank you sincerely :)More

I found The Fox and Hounds on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. The place is a very attractively decorated pub and restaurant. The food that the three of us had was delicious. My husband had the steak and ale pie with chips,...my aunt opted for fish pie which was served with salad and I had skate with new potatoes. The fact that skate was on the menu (a special) made my day, it's my favourite fish but hard to come by these days. It was garnished with lemon, olives, sweet red peppers, herbs, and a tasty seasoning - I don't know what it was, but it tasted really good. And the potatoes were perfectly cooked too. The staff were very friendly and professional. Last but not least, and important to me - the Ladies toilet was spotless, nicely decorated and good liquid soap and hand lotion was provided.More

Good food (apart from cold Yorkshire Puddings) that’s priced well. With a two or three course option pricing. Will return without a doubt, but would hope to be given a more attentive waitress, who apart from being very pleasant & ensured a service with a...smile, forgot a few drinks orders. Will definitely return, as is located in a great location, welcomed dogs, was very clean & again, food was good.More

Really lovely welcome. The friendly team ensured our every need was met (although we’re not needy!) and the roast was delicious with a great variety of vegetables. Good roast potatoes, which is key to the perfect roast imho. We will be back.
