Great hostelry after a walk! Good pub grub and friendly welcome from the staff. Great value as well! Highly recommended

Wishing to visit the delightful village of Shoreham in the Darenth Valley, my friend and I booked a table for two at The King’s Arms, one of three pubs in the village. Parking in the village is very competitive, so I would recommend using the...nearby free car park, which is five to ten minutes away on foot. Upon arrival, we were quickly shown to a small table in the centre of the restaurant area. There was a decent choice of dishes on the menu, and added specials on a board, although we were only interested in the Sunday roast. Service was admirably speedy as within twenty minutes we had ordered and received our drinks and food. It was nice to have the condiments brought pre-emptively and the waiting staff were efficient and attentive, twice checking that everything was in order. The roast lamb and beef was fine, not spectacular, but excellent value at between £11-13. We also had a £5.95 dessert, which similarly hit the mark. The only possible drawback was that our table was very tightly packed in, literally within breathing distance of our neighbours. The overall hubbub could be a bit off putting to some diners. Having said that, it didn’t bother us, and there are more secluded parts of the restaurant, as well as the opportunity to eat outside. We immediately booked for a return visit, and would happily recommend the King’s Arms to anyone visiting wonderful Shoreham.More

Smoked haddock dry and overcooked, poached egg hard no runny yolk at all. Reasonably priced food but meal was disappointing sadly. Does have a varied menu and staff pleasant but food could have been a lot better

What a brilliant and charming place to have lunch. We took my parents, my Scottish/German cousin and her son to Shoreham for a walk, and decided to stop for lunch at the Kings Arms (6 persons in the group). The staff were welcoming, attentive and...quick to serve us. The food was delicious, generously sized portions, which was great for those of us with good appetites (basically the whole family). I had the fish cakes, which were homemade and very tasty. The chips were crispy and not greasy,i.e. very good indeed. All the dishes we ordered came with either salad or peas, which was good. We will definitely book again soon, and bring more guests to this well run pub.More

6 of us ex-work colleagues met for lunch after a local walk. Everything you want from a local village pub. Friendly service, fine food and ambience, decent beer. I had delicious crab fish cakes for main, calamari for starter, both perfectly filling portions and salad....Price very reasonable about £27 for two courses and two pints. I wish this pub well-it's the best in all four Darenth Vally villages!🍻More

I had the sausage and mash. It was pretty evident that nothing was home made. A few of my family had the salad which was soggy and had obviously gone wet at the bottom of the bag. Great beer though, I would advise sticking to...being a boozer.More

The food here is lovely and the pub has old world charm, however, when we visited today we found that the service was awful. So bad, in fact, that after being here for two hours and only having been served with our main course, we...gave up on the idea of ordering desserts, just had coffee, and left. Such a pity.More

Surprisingly, this pub has been fully booked for Sunday lunch with not a single table available - we've opted fora quick tea break and a cake, which was quite good. The Sunday Roast menu looked great and was eey moderately priced, we will definitely come...back to try it on our next visit in the area.More

Lovely old cozy pub, went with family & had the fish and chips which was one of the best I’ve had. Staff friendly. Great little village pub We will be returning. Best to book before you go as it’s small and fairly busy.

We had an excellent lunch and would like to thank the staff for managing to squeeze us in (even the dog) after a long Sunday walk! Although we promised to be out by 2pm they ensured we had another table etc. Nothing was too much...trouble. A very professional and friendly pub.More

Went for Lunch with Girlfriends, lovely to see this unique Pub open again. Menu quite small but something for everyone, we chose Scampi & Chips & Fishcakes, nicely cooked & enjoyable & a comment made “ this is proper Pub Food” by one of the...Girls.
