Give yourself at least half an hour from the ferry terminal to amble along the disused dockside and street-art covered warehouses [which, by the way, are an attraction in their own right] to get to Ponto Finale. Across the water Lisbon sprawled and a little further downstream the looming and magnificent Ponte 25 de Abril dominated the skyline. Even though it was a grey day with a persistent breeze whipping across the Targus, we sat outside. After all, apart from a welcome spot of lunch that’s what we came here for - the view. The menu was fairly expansive but not overly expensive. The simplicity of grilled sardines, a salad and a couple of beers did the trick. The salad could have gone beyond the ‘green’ to be a bit more interesting but a decent lunch and a good moment in the day. We could see why everyone recommends a long, lazy lunch here on a hot summer’s day. But be sure to book.

Firstly, don't listen to the bad reviews on here, they are just from disgruntled people who showed up without a booking expecting to get a seat and then say the staff are rude because they can't accommodate them. It is seriously impressive, you must book in advance, don't show up without a booking because you won't get a seat. I booked two weeks in advance via email which you can find on their facebook page and they confirmed my booking the next day, I didn't bother phoning as I'd read on here they weren't very good at picking up. Go for sunset, the view is unbeatable. We requested to be sat on the jetty bit that sticks out in the water and we were sat there - it's amazing - bit scary when you first sit down but you get used to it. If you're looking for super fast service this isn't the place for you, the servers are brilliant, very knowledgable and spoke great english but they are pretty laid back so you could be waiting a while for food but it's so nice just to sit and watch the sunset. Food was delicious, the best meal we had in Lisbon. We had some bread and olives, then shared the grilled prawns then had grilled sole and dourada for main and shared a dessert - we also had a cocktail, beer and a good bottle of red wine and the whole bill was 111 euro in total which we thought was very reasonable. A lot of people have mentioned the long walk from the ferry but it's literally 15 minutes? And it's along the seafront too so it's really nice. If they're complaining about that then I'm guessing they won't like Lisbon! However walking back there is a section that isn't lit so it's very dark but we just used the torches on our phones. The only other thing I would say is maybe take a jacket/jumper because it does get a bit chilly when the sun goes down however they do offer blankets to people too. All in all, this was our absolute highlight of our Lisbon trip, so romantic and relaxing, brilliant food and a lovely atmosphere. Make this a priority if you're into seafood and good vibes.

I had dinner here with my boyfriend. We had amazing fish and huge portions. I really recommend you to go to Porto Final to eat great food and be surrounded by the nicest waiters. We were staying in Lisbon and it was pretty hard to find the place since is on the coast in front of the city of Lisbon, but it was totally worth it.

I've been to this place on a Sunday for lunch. I went without reservation, so i had to make around 30 mins queue (they add you to the waiting list). The place is really nice and definitely peculiar. There are around 20-25 tables outside, all VERY close to the water and the scenery is super nice, especially on sunny days (even tho you may get wet from some big splash.. it happened to me). Coming to the rest. The food is the kind of food you can find in any medium-quality Tasca in Lisbon. Really medium-low dishes, and definitely nothing you want to pay too much for. Again, Tasca food. The service: really really bad. Once you order your food, you basically don't exist anymore for them. I had to ask 3 times to have the wine menu during the meal and i managed to get their attention only when the waiter came to bring us the food. I spent roughly 75€ for: 2 home soups, 1 plate of boiled shrimps (served incredibly COLD), 2 grilled fishes (1 sea bass and 1 sea bream) and half a bottle of red wine. Another example of a restaurant that only lives and survives because of the location.

First off - make a reservation. They only do one seating a night at 7pm, and the line for stand-by was very long, with many people still waiting for a table by the time we left at 8:45pm. The location cannot be beat - literally inches away from falling onto the sand, with the sun setting over the water right next to us. Worth a visit just for the location. The staff is very friendly, but the food was not as good as we'd hoped, save for one dish. We started with the petite sardines, marinated in olive oil and served with lots of onions. The onions and sauce were really tasty, but the sardines were a little mushy and didn't taste very fresh. We also had the octopus salad, and it too was lacking in flavor and texture. The octopus was a little fishy and mushy, and the rest of the salad was a little bland. Our entree was the cod fritters with rice and beans, and this was a winner. The cod was cooked well, the breading could have been a little crispier but the flavor was good, and the boiling cauldron of rice and beans that came with it was amazing, especially when eaten with the fritters. It was so good. Value was on point, so go knowing that you're mainly paying for an unforgettable view with decent food.

Superb restaurant located at the end of a beautiful walk on the coastline of Calhais. The view was breathtaking and although there was a lot of wind that day it was still a pleasure to eat by the sea. The waiters and waitresses were very kind and funny. Tasty food and good ambiance. A lovely experience overall by the sea with a view on the bridge and the city by night. They also let us do takeaway as the portion was too generous for us, which was very practical.

A short 10 min ferry ride from Lisbon and then a 20 min walk to the restaurant is more than worth the effort. The fish dishes are fresh and plentiful. My host ordered Peixinhos da horta- I had never heard of it- and it was large string/long beans deep fried in a batter. I promise you, MUCH better than it sounds. I ate a whole plate. The restaurant doesn’t open until 7 in the summer and reservations are hit and miss. The view? Fabulous!

The absolute worst customer service ever experienced by the seating host on August 11 2022. After over and hour wait (which was not the problem because we were told there was a wait and we were ok with it ) we were seated. I had mentioned to the host that since the sun had set my 3 children were a bit cold. When we were seated we were put on the part that sticks out which was windy. He mentioned he was sorry that that’s all he had available (which I soon found out was not the case). I said no problem. Except within 2 minutes of being seated another table of 5 opened up with zero wind because of its location. I immediately went to the host and mentioned that we would like to be moved so the kids would be comfortable and we can enjoy the meal and drinks. The host said he could not, with zero explanation. I pleaded why it was essential to move and he just kept saying no. I had viewed menu and knew we would be spending easily 130+ Euros and because of his lack of common sense and consideration we walked out and decided not to give them even a cent. Spend your money else where, where they value their customers and their experience.

Ponto Final is a must do experience when you are in Lisbon. The ferry ride to the restaurant side is short. The walk to Ponto Final in the water side takes you past derelict buildings and crumbling piers. The food at Ponto Final is decent and the portions generous but the experience of sitting outside on a pier looking at Lisbon from across the Tejo is fantastic. The restaurant is clear in saying food will take 30 to 45 minutes to come so order a bottle of wine and enjoy a long stay.

We came because it was recommended to us by several taxi drivers, our hotel and the internet. The view IS really nice, the food is not. The service is okay, most of them were really polite and all of them were fast. The one who seated us however seemed to be displeased whenever he heard the visitors were foreign but was all the more friendly when they were portuguese visitors. Whatever. For starters- skip the bread, butter and olives, it’s all horrible cheap stuff. The octopus salad was good, the sardines in oil were average. The monkfish stew was too salty, the fish itself quite good though. The desserts where a catastrophe- the egg yolk with sugar seemed to be an partially raw egg drenched in cinnamon to conceal it. The Creme brulee was still cold (coming store-bought from the fridge I guess) and the top was not torched but completely burned. Wouldn’t go there again, cause you can enjoy the view without eating there, too.

Overall, this is a place where the view and the setting are so stunning that the food does play second fiddle to some extent, and we loved the experience of sitting by the water and looking across the water to Lisbon. That said, we were waiting for half an hour on a weekday lunch time just to get a seat, and the service was not very good - there was no communication with us at all about how long we might be waiting, and the restaurant seemed to be a bit under-staffed as service was fairly slow. The food when it came was not some of the best we had in Portugal, but again, when you're eating it in a beautiful setting its still quite nice.

My timing for getting my review in is a little bit late, but this is for a visit back in Feb 2020. Like other tourists, I was first introduced to this restaurant through Somebody Feed Phil. It's a bit of a walk from the ferry to reach here, but the street art makes it an enjoyable stroll. The food, while not the best I had while on our trip to Lisbon, was still very good and while not cheap was also more affordable than I anticipated for restaurant with this view. The view is unbeatable. And the staff were very attentive and helped to make the experience more enjoyable.

A delightful restaurant in an idyllic location, set amongst former fishing sheds the ponto final delivered fantastic views of Lisbon and it’s famous bridge. The food was delicious, we had booked which I would advise since the queue of people waiting was very long. If you are in the area I would certainly recommend. We had a table in the open Pier so we’re pleased to have taken Our sweaters and long trousers.

You must either make a reservation many weeks ahead of time or decide if it’s worth a 2 hour wait! Very popular since it was highlighted in Netflix. Expect cool breeze off the river and perhaps a rogue wave or two. The monk fish stew for 2 is served boiling hot and is so flavorful! We saw a shrimp appetizer served with fruit that looked wonderful. Many other fishes dishes as well as many nice looking desserts. Just decide…is it worth the wait for you?

We had heard of this restaurant through friends and websites saying give it a try. If you have time I would say to email and make a reservation specially during high season, as we got quite lucky and only had to wait 20mins for a table after all reservations had been seated. Got seated right by the waters edge, a waiter attended the table took a drinks order and gave recommendations for wine and food too. Which we though this is a good start and was living up to the hype of what we had read. The food was a 6.5/10 if I completely honest. Upon finishing our main course and to get the full experience we really wanted to try the desserts menu to complete the experience, unfortunately this wasn't the case we sat for 50 mins trying to make eye contact waiting staff to order another bottle of wine and a little dessert. Our waiter was a nice chap I would give him 8/10 for chattiness and knowledge of the menu but would give him 3/10 for remembering his tables. We became frustrated waiting a total of an hour to get chatting to a waiter requesting the bill in frustration and the restaurant didn't seem overly busy upon stating that we had felt neglected it was brushed off as we don't have enough staff tonight but every other table was being served ok, they got deserts and more wine pretty quickly , we think it only really did one sitting the whole night. At Elton Johns rocket man says it's going to be a really really long time as this is exactly what will happen. Overall we rated this restaurant 6.5 food, location 8.5/10, service 5/10 won't be rushing back
