Ok so its not posh, Its pretty and quaint - its a country pub that serves nice food. One that unless you know about it you wouldn't find it. Its very popular and you need to book. Staff are helpful. I think to be fair it does need a bit of a makeover décor wise, I've been visiting for some... More

Came here with friends on Saturday 6/5/2017, had a table booked for 4, very cosy inside and perhaps too warm in temperature but all was fine, we ordered at the bar which personally for me much prefer menus, we were offered a menu but only had some basic meals on it with the full menu was on the blackboard at... Visited the Yew Tree with some friends. Usually very busy but not so this time. Service was slow. Food was ok but some thought more like school dinners with roast potatoes not all that fresh. Desserts were excellent though which made up for the first course. Large portions so good for hungry people.

We used to come here often but once the decision was taken that dogs were only allowed in the "public" bar area and no longer in the other bar area we stopped visiting. My first visit would have been in 1986 and after 30 years we decided to visit today after having taken the dogs for a lovely walk in... More

We visited the Yew Tree for a family meal. As always the pub is extremely popular and very busy. The staff are Friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food was excellent at a reasonable price.

I've not been to the Yew Tree since I moved away back in 1998. I just had to have the seafood platter again. OH MY WORD!!! I wasn't disappointed. I miss my seafood as it doesn't taste the same in Yorkshire so my tastebuds were completely reawakened to the taste of real seafood as it should be. I'm salivating as... More

We visited The Yew Tree after visiting my grandfather's grave in Arlington church. We planted a bush and the staff kindly gave us some water to bed it in. We had a roast dinner, despite being midweek. We didn't expect much due to that, but found it to be not much better than a school dinner. The meat seemed to... More

Been coming to the Yew Tree for about 15 years and it is now a shadow of its former self. Decided to give it 4 stars but it was almost 3 stars (used to be 5 stars). The food was good was not the size portions and quality of previous visits. It seemed to lack the atmosphere it used to have... More
