The positive reviews (well apart from the delivery issues) are all well deserved. Went to K2 for a friends birthday and was really impressed by the quality of the food... great flavours, well cooked, lots of interesting dishes and the best naan bread EVER!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times. Tonight I didn't want a heavy sauce or too much spice. I had a kebab expecting meat in bread, like Turkish kebab. I got meat in a light sauce and no bread. Was truly amazing and full...of flavour and a welcome surprise. Prosecco is pleasent and drinkable. Staff are polite and friendly, manager and bar staff very helpful 👍 thanks for a lovely evening 😀More
This was our first visit since moving back to Eastbourne, after being regular diners for several years, having previously enjoyed dinners, Sunday buffets and Christmas Day lunch. On Thursday evening we booked for 6:30pm and were served our starters at 7:10pm and our main course...at 7:40pm. If each meal were being cooked individually and from basic ingredients this would be acceptable. There were few occupied tables when we arrived, although the restaurant did fill up later in the evening. The food itself was very enjoyable but we had not expected it to come plated, as it might have been, had it been part of a feast night meal. We like to share our dishes so it was awkward to take food from each other’s plates. We needed to order extra rice as each curry came served on a plate with a small pot of rice. The take away delivery service appeared busy so presumably those meals have to be prepared alongside restaurant orders, hence the long wait. We would have preferred our main dishes, chosen from the à la carte menu, to have been served in separate dishes, so we could share our dining experience. Also when the order is taken, we could be asked if we wish to wait in between courses, in our case we waited 30 minutes, but not from choice.More

Don't expect your delivery on time if after 7pm on Saturdays. I have used K2 for several years. Food is always good quality however the delivery service is letting it down. It is a pleasant surprise now if a) the delivery arrives less than 30...mins late b) all the items ordered are there. I had to chase a refund this week as it wasn't processed as promised. Also no offer of a bit of compensation for no naan by way of a voucher etc. Collection probably better advice if you want it on time.More
I want to love K2. I feel guilty at not loving K2, but this visit follows a less than lovely takeaway a few weeks ago and now a visit.. It is a victim of its own success and from reviews it struggles to know what...to concentrate on. It is too small a building for the number of covers. The type of dining with many separate dishes does not lend itself to cramming 5 people on a 1m diameter table with drinks perched on the windowcill. I can’t remember it having SO many covers in this small space. It is to K2s credit that takeaway trade is buoyant, but with delivery guys jostling in the entrance with hot boxes and locals collecting takeaways, there is a chaotic air to the venue. It felt rushed, it felt slapdash….instead of having room to add food to the plate, which is part of the experience, I added the lot, to give room on the tiny table for four others….,, eventually the hotboxes slowed down but our wine glasses still remained on the window ledge and groups still remained cramped. Disappointing, as good Indian Restaurants aren’t THAT numerous. Maybe a review of the business model in order.More
This was the second time out of two that we were messed around by our takeaway delivery. After 2 hours they told us that our delivery had been left off the delivery vehicle. They told us that the delivery had been despatched half an hour...before this. In over 30 years of ordering takeaways this by far the worst service I have ever received.More
2nd visit in a few weeks, great food - the fact the restaurant was full & turning people away on a ‘quiet’ Thursday between Christmas & New Year says it all really. Great food & service & good value.
Birthday family meal ruined. We ordered for 7 people through Just Eat at 5pm for delivery at 7.30 pm which you would think be enough time for them to get the delivery to us being 10 minutes away. 7.30 came and went so we called...them and they assured us it would be with us soon. An hour later still nothing...we called again to be told it would be here soon. Still nothing. After a further call they said the delivery had been sent to the wrong address and that they would go and collect it from this address and redeliver to us! This was obviously a lie and totally unacceptable anyway. In the end after 2 hours we had to drive to the restaurant to collect it ourselves. On arrival home the food was barely warm...the half tandoori chicken was in fact a chicken leg which didn't look properly cooked so we couldn't eat it. When we asked for a refund Just Eat would only offer a third of the cost back as the food was cold. And the restaurant won't give us anything back themselves. So all in all this was a terrible experience. We were recommended this restaurant by friends so this was our first and last experience at this restaurant.More
I would score zero if that was an option. We ordered takeaway for a family celebration. We booked at 4pm for 7.30pm delivery. At 8pm we called again and were told it was on its way. At 8.30 we called again and when we eventually...got though we were told it had been delivered to another house … they would have to get it back from there and the deliver to us. We refused this and said this was unacceptable. I’m not sure how they thought this was acceptable. We then said we would go and collect the food and 2 hours later had our food to take home. Sadly the food was in a cardboard box for transportation. The containers had split and the curry had spilt. The food was cold. The half tandoori chicken was just a chicken leg. The “salad” was wilted and minuscule. The food was unappetising and we didn’t eat it all or enjoy it. Overall this food managed to ruin a family celebration and caused no end of stress. I would never order from here again.More
We're used to getting the wrong food on a K2 takeaway, but tonight surpassed everything! We ordered a takeaway and delivery time was 1840. We waited, and waited, but no food arrived. We phoned, no reply, left a voicemail, noreply, emailed, no reply, even tried...booking a table just to see if they were open, no reply. So we assumed they weren't open and the website was incorrect. 2 hours after the delivery time that they stated, they turned up...TOO LATE!! 40 minutes after our order was meant to arrive we ordered from another restaurant. It arrived literally 5 minutes before the K2 delivery and earlier than they had predicted. So not everyone is incompetent! Would we order from K2again? NEVER! Would we oder from their competitors? YES! I just hope they are more efficient at my refund!More
Myself, partner and our two adult children decided that we’d have a Christmas Day meal out rather than me (the male half) having to spend the day cooking Turkey etc. We chose the K2 and are so glad we did. The restaurant for the 12:30...sitting wasn’t packed but there were enough people to create a good vibe. The set menu food was all delicious and plentiful. The service was attentive and polite and the time between courses was perfect, in that we didn’t wait too long for food, neither did we feel at all rushed.More
Myself, wife and brother dined tonight at K2 restaurant after not having visited for many years! We all really enjoyed our meal. Staff were polite and very helpful as my wife is a Coeliac, and staff confirmed what was safe for her to eat and...what might not be. All dishes were hot and very flavoursome. We enjoyed the set meal for x4 people between the three of us which provided plenty of variety and delicious tastes. We can’t believe we forgot about this place for so long, but have been really impressed today with food quality and staff service, a great meal at a great place, thank you!More
Absolutely outstanding quality of food and so obviously well prepared and cooked. Really good to find somewhere taking pride in what they serve to customers and also paying attention to the environment they are eating in. Nice decor, clean and sharp looking. Staff were all...super friendly and attentive. If you go any for a meal out when visiting Eastbourne make the effort and go here you won’t be disappointed. If I lived here I go at least twice a week!!More
We ordered our first family takeaway from K2 Indian Restaurant last night and were very impressed with the taste and quality of the food, the large portions and reasonable price plus the meals were piping hot. What amazed me the most was that we ordered...at peek time on a Friday evening, they gave us forty minutes delivery time and it turned up in twenty and the delivery driver was very friendly. We're looking forward to ordering again soon. Easy to order from website and clear. Highly recommended.More
