The Fig Tree is just amazing, we have eaten here several times now and it just keeps getting better! The Mallard starter is incredible, so much so we had to go back this evening just to have it again! We can't speak highly enough of the food & the service given at this bold yet little restaurant in the village... More

Dinner for a friend's birthday, her first trip and she was delighted, we have a lovely three-course meal, each course was very good. The Fig Tree has recently been taken over by new managers, I think they were still settling in at this time as it was not as amazing as my previous visits but bodes well for the future.

We've made a few attempts, unsuccessfully , to visit The Fig Tree since its been taken over by James and Jodie. They're so busy especially weekends. But as it was earlier in the week and a bitterly cold evening this time we were able to get a table. Wow! we were not dissapointed, and it was definately worth the wait.... More

we had the most amazing meal at the fig tree, the food was a work of art ,we are a family with mixed tastes, but everyone had a meal that they wholeheartedly enjoyed. The service was attentive but not intrusive and everyone felt welcomed.

Couldn't have asked for better food or service, the presentation was excellent best Sunday roast we had ever tasted.

The food was very good. Our problem with the evening was that every point we felt rushed. We were 4 friends wanting some time to catch up and chat but the food came very quickly. After the main course we ordered a further bottle of wine and asked if we could wait for deserts but they didn't seem very relaxed... More

We booked The Fig Tree for Sunday lunch, we wanted somewhere better than the local gastropub or chain restaurants - we were delighted. The service from the front of house staff was spot on - efficient, polite, friendly and on the ball. The food was wonderful - top class presentation and packed with delicate flavours and perfect combinations of tastes.... More

The best introduction to any restaurant is to be greeted with a smile. We were; and we left with an even bigger smile. Between smiles we sampled some really accomplished cooking. A well flavoured amuse-bouche of brandade de morue served with crispy batter made a play on fish and chips and worked really well. We followed up with a chicken... More

The food here was delicious and my only worry is that there were so few people here on a Saturday lunchtime ! I hope they keep going as they are super cooks . Scallop starter was divine and the pheasant main was like a mini christmas lunch with amazing crispy brussels . Partner enjoyed duck then curried monkfish tail .... More
