Went here for Saturday lunch with my partner. Waited over an hour food with no apology for the wait once it arrived. Food was very poor and lack of imagination or care went into the veggie burger. Never came over once to ask how the meal was. Won't be returning any time soon.

only my 2nd visit to this lovely pub, we thought we would take mum somewhere different. Staff very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Service spot on, choice of menu excellent. We liked the quirky idea of having spare reading glasses hanging up just in case you left your own at home. There were little samples of the different... More

Made 2 visits recently, both times Food was excellent, with beautiful presentation, service is not rushed, a good sign for me as It usually means my food is being prepared and cooked and not just warmed up. A vegetarian and gluten free option being available was appreciated by one of my guests. General ambiance was quiet on both visits no... More

Unfortunately on a sunny day the management show their inexperience, the kitchen was closed until further notice with absolutely no indication from front of house staff until when. Management need to take hold of these situations, today really showed the lack of competence through the team. Thoroughly disappointed.

With only 24 hours notice I booked a table for six adults and five children for 1630 as this was the earliest time available. Driving into the car park I was shocked how busy it was and joked they had probably run out of food. They had sold out of roast dinners but incredibly thoughtfully and respectfully they had set... Unfortunately they just can't cope on sunny days, an hour for main course, 45 mins for desert and 30 mins for a coffee. As good as the food is I won't be coming back because of the poor service.

Dropped in on the off chance as haven't visited pub for a while. Menu was reasonably interesting and the staff greeted us nicely. There is nothing worse than walking in and not one person smiles at you. I had the burger and hubby had fish and chips. The meal took longer than expected to come considering there were only about... My wife and I went to the Sportsamn yesterday evening for dinner. The waiting staff were attentive, polite and a credit to the Sportsman. The food was the best we have had in a long time with a good selection and cooked to highest of standards. Already looking forward to eating there again.

Sunday roasts here are a good example of the ample [ortions , very well cooked using "aged" meats. Plenty of fresh vegetables. We had locally sourced Sussex roast lamb. Service is fairly quick & the staff pleasant & welcoming. Puddings are also good.Big choice ion menu with some unusual dishes as well as the usual pub grub. Very busy (a... More
