The pub has a lovely atmosphere amd the locals and staff were very helpful and friendly. The menu was really varied and complimented by a huge specials board. Service was good, in spite of it being Saturday night, food was nice and the portions were...HUGE. Loved it, but nake sure you book!More

My wife and I both had a great meal at The Old Inn. The portions were large and delicious. The Ploughman's Lunch and the Huntman's Chicken were both very good and more than we could finish. Their selection of beers and other drinks was good...too!More

Enormous range of options on both standard menu and specials boards. Trying very hard to cater for all tastes and eventualities. Either the kitchen has a cast of thousands or the food prep has to be done in advance or bought in. Having said that...the quality is good and decently presented. Portions are huge though, waste levels must be high. Staff are bright, chatty and welcoming. Obviously popular with both locals and visitors.More

So we dined today and left pleasently surprised firstly and stuffed 😁👍🏻 food was piping hot which is what you expect, We ordered 2 Lamb Mousakas, a Beef Lasagne & Steak & Kidney Pie & Chips ! & extra Chips as the Chips are fried...in beef dripping I gotta say everything was prepared & cooked to absolute pefection, The portions are huge, The head chef has a great pallette for flavour descent robust flavours & great seasoning and use of fresh herbs settles to truth that the food here is far from bland and very well thought out and prepared , My Mousakas was delightful, and just so many layers of flavour, The lamb was tender as hell and the dish was packed full of it...I tried the Mrs's Steak & Kidney pie it was again packed with melt in the mouth beef and huge chunks of kidney caramelised onions & vegetables {could handled a little more jus in there}And the pastry lid was outstanding...George loved his Lasagne too...This team is earning their customers and I gotta say this place is serving delicious food. The service is straight forward & there are loads of specials & options...Literally something for everyone veggie's, vegans , and intollerent. On this occasion we skipped starters & desserts..as it was lunch and there's only so much you can absorb of a lunch time but there was ample..Thanks we will be back we really enjoyed our first dining experience! And would highly recommend the old inn if you haven't had the chance to visit.More

Disappointing - nothing like a cosy pub more like a canteen. Average food, no atmosphere and couldn't wait to leave. Fish nice but peas hard and crab cakes dull.

A real pub with great locals, beer and food, Rich behind the bar with good humour helped us to navigate an afternoon and evening meal, the chicken madras hit the spot, the only observation, when the plate was empty, bugger, it had all been eaten,...will need to return, cheers.More

This country pub is full of charm and such a welcoming place. The staff are friendly and the food was fantastic - plentiful dishes and well cooked. This is a pub used by locals and tourists and although the actual pub area isn’t that large,...you don’t feel squished in.More

Great restaurant......we went 3 times during the week we stayed in the area. Pros: Sunday carvery was good value. Loads of daily specials - great variety of food. Large portions - we never left hungry. Good service - friendly/helpful staff on the whole. Cons: Lack...of vegetables - most dishes just come with peas. The side of mixed vegetables was peas, carrots, cabbage and swede (the same options from the carvery). Broccoli, bokchoi......other healthy greens would be a great addition. Portions of chips/fries too large - lots of wastage, or if someone does eat the full portion it's not healthy!More

An amazing place to visit, menu is spectacular 👌 with plenty of homemade options. Carvery is highly recommended for value and taste. Every item available all cooked to perfection, I visit each time I go to cornwall regardless of my base. Its worth the drive!...Booking recommended as it gets very busy which speaks volumes! I've just booked in for this coming Sunday I can't wait to return, fresh produce cooked very well be sure to save room for dessert they are amazing! On the drive in to the village your surrounded by moorlands with animals free roaming, such a lovely setting 😊 if your visiting cornwall highly recommended 😀More

We were on holiday in the area and looked for somewhere local to eat and found Old Inn and Restaurant and booked online via their website. We arrived at the pub and were greeted and shown to our table (64) in the restaurant. We were...a party of six and this was a round table and we really liked it. The pub have the standard menu as shown on the website, plus a surprisingly huge specials board menu which has multiple sections of starters, meat, fish and desserts which change regularly. We ordered from both the main menu and the board. We also ordered our drinks. We are real ale (Cask Marque pub) and gin lovers cx and they had local ales and gin which was really nice as we were able to try real Cornish produce. The food is also locally sourced and when our food arrived, it was clear to see that the quality was superb. It was absolutely delicious! The portions were really generous and everyone throughly enjoyed their meal. We ordered dessert and again, clearly home made and delicious. We loved the pub so much, we decided to rebook again two days later. We arrived and were greeted by Dale, one of the owners. We’d requested the same table but it was already reserved, but he accommodated us on another round table (59). We ordered our food and it was delicious again and enjoyed our evening. We chatted to a lady who was working behind the bar (we unfortunately didn’t get her name, but she was lovely!) and discovered that Dale and Darren (the chef) ran the pub. We saw Dale in the bar and spoke to him and complimented him on the pub, the food and his staff. We highly recommended visiting this pub if you are in the area. We will definitely return. Thanks Dale and Darren for your fabulous hospitality!More

Escaped from the kids for a sneaky meal and drink out during the week. The staff were most welcoming and the food and service, second to none, even the owner Darren was present and provided some great insight on location and history. A big thank...you to all staff, a great afternoon … early evening out ;)More

Visited these guys on Saturday to watch the lionesses game at 11:30. The landlord and landlady were so so lovely and the pub itself is so beautiful! They couldn’t do enough to accommodate us and our 2 boys watching the football on the big screen...and all the staff we saw throughout our visit were friendly and welcoming! We even popped back in, in the afternoon for a drink before heading back to the campsite as we had such a lovely morning experience. The food was exceptional too!More
