After a walk round Quarry Bank Mill made our way across the fields to th Ship Inn for a light lunch. It was a bright March day so sat outside next to the fire in the very pleasant patio area and enjoyed some good food and nice beer.

Stumbled across this pub on our way home from Manchester Airport. Lovely old pub. Cosy eating areas. Very friendly and happy staff. Quick service. We ordered 2 x kids menu's - lasagne with garlic bread & bangers and mash, both presented lovely. Adults ordered fish finger sandwich & ham hock with piccalilli on ciabatta. Absolutely gorgeous even the pot of... More

Spur of the moment lunch. Surprised to find it both packed and tables reserved. Difficult to find a table but we did. Quick service for drinks and order. Very impressed with the tempura veg... batter very light. 1/2 pint of whitebait was lovely too. Mains were Cheese and onion pie, steak and ale pie and a ham hock and piccalilli... More

We went for a catch up and ordered a bottle of prosecco and then queried the price. £25! This is a small, dark, country pub in Styal not a bistro in Wilmslow and even in Wilmslow it's £10 fizzy Friday. Felt ripped off and won't be going again.

Visited with a walking group at Tuesday lunchtime. For a busy pub restaurant the food orders were handled efficiently and the meals were good quality and value. Well worth a visit after walking in beautiful surroundings.

Reasonable range of beers and lagers. Had some excellent jalapeño pretzel snacks, cockles with Tabasco & lemon. However, and here's the problem, the two bar servers I had the misfortune to be 'served' by were effortlessly miserable and needed a hospitality injection! Not even a thank you for returning used plate to the bar, as clearing tables doesn't appear to... More

Called in for drinks having eaten next door at the 39 Steps. Very impressed with the décor and different rooms with plenty of seating. Lots of draught ales and lagers etc all reasonably priced. Had a look at the food menu which is quite extensive and lots of unusual items. Gents toilets were very clean and quirky. Liked the unique... More

Nice pub; enjoyed a decent lunch here. Wanted the steak and ale pie which they'd run out of unfortunately (big menu though so can understand that) but had the burger instead which was tasty enough. Overall, no complaints, would happily pop in again.
