15 of us and 2 dogs had an amazing lunch to celebrate an 80th birthday. The food and service were excellent. To find a dog friendly pub with such amazing food and service is wonderful. All I can say is WOW! I was so overwhelmed to see a whole Gluten Free menu, alongside the normal menu. The food was so good, my husband and I really enjoyed our meal. I am going to give this place the shout out it...deserves to all my Gluten free Buddies. Thank you to Mark Chef/Landlord and all the staff for such fabulous services. We will be back for Sunday lunch very soon, making sure I ask for their homemade Gluten free Yorkshire puddings, which they need a little notice for as made in advance. Dog friendly too. We had visited the Sycamore before- a lovely old village pub not far from Bridgend. Decided to go for our wedding anniversary and so glad we did! So many dishes to choose from, and many homemade. We had the Thursday night "steak special" which was...excellent. The chips are really good. Lovely atmoshere and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They even welcome well-behaved dogs (ours came with us). Thank you all for a perfect evening.More

Turned up for a 630 booking on a Saturday night. Sat down but no menus were given to us though we’d looked online. After waiting some time we were told that almost all items that we would have ordered (fish, steak, pasta) were sold out....We were just about to leave when someone came over to say that they’d been busy and ‘it’s just one of those things’. (This wasn’t prompted by any complaint - we were on our way out). Clearly not what you’d want to hear! We left, and had a lovely meal at the farmers arms in nearby st brides major.More

We stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to go for Sunday lunch while on holiday. One of our group is coeliac so it was important their needs were catered for. The Sycamore exceeded expectations. The Sunday roast was amazing, huge portions and plenty...of veg. The only thing missing was a gluten free Yorkshire pudding. We felt that the special dietary needs were taken seriously and the waiting staff were very attentive to this. There was even a choice of gluten free pudding (and not the usual chocolate brownie). Hidden Gem! My first visit this evening after being highly recommend by my parents. Honestly this place is incredible! Food is awesome! Great portion sizes, Fresh, Warm and just so tasty! So nice to find a place also where it’s dog friendly, a great selection...of beers / wines also and the staff really are lovely! What an amazing place for food and it’s also dog friendly. Found this gem of a place when looking for a place to eat for a family birthday, this did not disappoint, the staff were so friendly and could not do enough and the food...was unbelievable. We all had 2 courses and could not fault it, my niece is a very fussy vegetarian and even she was impressed and can’t wait to go back. Would highly recommend, we are so impressed we have booked to try their Sunday lunch.More

We visited with family and our dog back in April and returned twice again in July. The staff are amazing and they made us feel so welcomed even with our large dog ! The food is excellent pub food with super choices for vegetarians. I...cannot recommend this pub enoughMore

On the spur of the moment we went to the Sycamore for an evening meal. Though it is the local village pub we had not been there for sometime. What a turnaround! The first thing I noticed was how well decorated the pub was and...how clean and welcoming it looked. We were greeted by charming staff who then looked after us when we were at our table. The food was excellent. Proper pub cooking. I had cod and chips whilst the rest had burgers, all really well prepared and presented. I will now strongly recommend the Sycamore to all and sundry though the opening hours are a little unusual. Well done to all concerned!More

I was looking for a good local pub to meet our Son and Grandson who live locally as we travelled from Bristol and what a gem we found. Having a separate Gluten Free menu online which was extensive sold us the pub and the landlord...Mark was a great host and very attentive, this with great food and service is a place we shall visit again.More

Stopped off with last minute decision to have a Sunday lunch & was suitably impressed that they fitted us in without booking (would recommend booking if you want to be in the restaurant, we were more than happy with the homely feel if the bar)....Sunday lunch was superb with lovely cuts of meat & lovely thick rich gravy - we will definitely be back!More
