Enjoyed a Wednesday pizza nite at the Bakery. Fast friendly service, alcohol cheaper than the pub, pit fire outside to sit and enjoy the view of the nite sky. Bit disappointed with the kangaroo and claret pie, nothing special.

An excellent variety of pies. We had the curry camel pie and it was yummy. Cold beers and wine, what else could you ask for in the outback. An excellent place to visit for something to eat, an outside fire made our evening fantastic. Service...More

A limited variety of goods and tourist orientated. This is the only bakery I have been too that sells beer. We tried the chunky beef pies and they were not very chunky. It is Birdsville and a long way inland with little competition and priced...More

If you head to Birdsville you must visit the bakery and get your chops around a curried camel pie! We loved it. Tasted great. My husband enjoyed the kangaroo and port pie as well, along with a beer to wash it down! Great staff, great...More

A wonderful bakery, with plenty of history. Advertised gluten free options but had none. Had no understanding of gluten free food handling. But then again, it's the outback and I really didn't expect anything else.

Four hours on a rough dirt road makes a hot camel pie and a cold beer in air conditioned comfort taste extra special. And no, it doesn't taste like chicken. Great food in the middle of nowhere. Who would have thunk it?

Great friendly bakery with plenty of food options to satiate that hunger and wash it down with a great Aussie beer. Bonus on dinner nights is the fire pit out the front. Sit around and share a beverage and yarn to other travelers or locals...More

We both had a meat pie for lunch and followed that with a custard slice and muffin. Everything was absolutely yummy. The staff were very courteous and polite. Also bought a loaf of fresh bread, what a treat, it was also very good. Can't believe...More

It's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll, but it's worth the trip! G'day, and welcome to the Birdsville Bakery, Licensed Hard Road Cafe and John Murray Art Gallery. We trade 7 days a week from Easter through to Mid October. Offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. With the exception of shortcrust pastry shells for our sweets cabinet, everything is prepared on site. An award for excellence speaks out our desire to produce and sell quality products. The Birdsville Bakery is sponsoring the 2014 Betoota Cup. The Betoota Races is first race meeting in the Simpson Desert Racing Carnival, being held in August. The following weekend the famous Birdsville Races are held with the Bedourie Races the third weekend in the carnival. We have extensive mobile catering facilities which has enabled us to cater for up to 360 offsite.
