Classic HIghlands friendly welcome here sitting in a lovingly kept 1950's British rail carriage. Lovely food and cake in nice surroundings with the stunning Glenfinnan viaduct a short and pleasant walk away as well as the Bonnie Prince Charlie Monument and views down Loch Shiel. It gets frantically busy when the Jacobite train is running between 1040 and 1120, but... More

After 3.5 hours drive to Fort William, spent £63, got the return tickets, hopped on Jacobite train to Glenfinnan. The whole idea is let my daughter meets Santa on Hogwart's train. However my daughter was a bit upset cause santa was quite grumpy. No smiling no greeting. Anyway, it made the journey unforgettable I reckon. Anyhow, I would rather watch... More

After exploring the Glenfinnan viaduct trail we took a short break in here. It has a beautiful interior and a few choices of meal. We took mushroom soup and did not regrest. It is memorable place with charm. Children should like it. Prices are reasonable. I offer to take seat in the side of panoramic view, because in the other... More

Yes, this is a real railway station, where some historical equipment, dining car etc. Notice that also one steam train (Jacobite Line) will stop during it's timetables from May to October. Other operators (Scottish Rail) use diesel trains, so this railway do not have any electrical power to use. The best in restaurant was very friendy service, good food available,... More

We came upon this dining car by chance. Lovely warm welcome and quirky unusual venue within the carriage. Gorgeous home made cakes. Would recommend the ginger cake!

Loved the idea of lunch in the old fashioned dining car. Great location with lovely views and right next to station which is also pretty for photos. Food was nice and good portions but a bit overpriced. If it was a bit less expensive I would possibly visit every time in area but as it is will probably return just... More

We highly recommend this sweet little "restaurant", it is quite a special place for having some lunch / afternoon tea. The food was well seasoned, really tasty actually and beautifully presented. Gorgeous pear chutney! The waitress was lovely too!

We had lunch there with my daughter and grandchildren. Nothing was too much trouble for them and service was excellent. The prices at first seem above average but when you see and taste the quality of all of their food and also the portion size then you realise that they actually give you excellent value for money. Wonderful setting and... More

A great experience - lunch in a beautifully restored railway dining car. Table service and a good varied menu. The museum at the railway station is well worth a visit afterwards.

Call in at the dining car for a highland treat. Very friendly staff, quirky period rail dining car, and really good food. If you like railways you will enjoy the authentic location, if you like good views, you will be thrilled, but if you just like good food your taste buds will be tickled. We 4 visited twice in a...
