Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Chose this as it was close to where were staying. Quirky building but great staff and very nice food. Good range of drinks and a good kids menu.

Whilst staying on the island we had passed this place a few times but this time fancied something to eat and a drink. Found the staff and food well worth the visit and not over priced.

When we visit family in Bembridge we often go for lunch here as they always have gluten free options. Lovely food, friendly staff, reasonable prices and lovely setting.

Apart from being comfortable and warm The Propeller has lovely staff, and excellent service. It was a Sunday so a choice of roasts including vegetarian is on offer. Without doubt, we had the best carvery lunch you could wish for. Wide choice, generous portions, everything...beautifully cooked, and to follow there were scrummy desserts. (The Belgian waffle with vanilla ice cream, salted caramel and chocolate sauce was heavenly). All this at very reasonable prices. I thoroughly recommend a visit. PS they even allow well behaved dogs.More

Just returned from Sunday lunch at The Propeller. Our first visit to this lovely friendly pub and won't be out last! Really lovely lunch, great staff and really couldn't fault it. In this day and age of chain restaurants and pubs it's so nice to...go somewhere independent that's reasonably priced and serves really good food. Thank you so much 😊More

This is quite THE best pub going! Literally magnificent food... so in detail, my husband had the steak and ale pie. Clearly homemade pastry and filled to capacity with juicy meat, wonderful vegetables (same for Sunday roast) - this chef really believes in cooking vegetables...beautifully. I had the cajun chicken, have to admit to having had it before and it was actually stupendous. Although I am an enthusiastic cook myself, I could not have done this better. Simply perfectly cooked cajun chicken with a tomato salsa, lime, chili and sour cream with wonderfully crisp french fries. I can only give both these dishes 120%. Only wish they were closer as getting to the Isle of Wight is challenging, except we flew in as we have a little plane. Take this formula onto the mainland and you'd have a mega success on your hands. While it's at Bembridge, then we love it and will come back time and time again. Please don't close! Love, ChrissiMore

The pub itself is quite shabby, a bit run down, didn’t expect much on first impressions but we were seated and served quickly by two friendly waitresses, food was very nice indeed, no complaints.

Friendly service. Smooth latte. Beautiful views towards Bembridge Windmill. Nice to sit on the terrace and watch the planes across the airfield. Liked the propeller memorabilia and photos but could do with a lot more to make the place more interesting. Very relaxing and close...to Away Resorts Holiday Resort. Fidelscastrol.More

The Propeller Inn does not look quaint. I has no thatched roof or babbling brook. But if you drive past and choose not to stop and dine, you are missing something special. (N.B. It does have a very smart outdoor dining/drinking veranda which I'm sure...would be amazing on a sunny day watching the light aircraft take off and land from the adjacent Bembridge Airport). After reading reviews here my wife and I stopped by Friday after lunch service to check availability for that evening. Lucky we did as there were just 2 tables left. I suggest you book if you intend to dine. There is a large, free, car park but we arranged for a drop off and pick up from Bembridge Taxis (recommended). We had a problem with the menu: virtually all of the dishes are on our 'go-to' list. It was as if the chef knew all of our favourites and there they all were! We each chose a starter (warm scotch egg and deep fried whitebait) both were delicious. We both plumped for the much reviewed full rack of ribs. They were amazing! (I was a little concerned as I'm currently receiving dental treatment but these were 'fall-off-the bone' good. No worries there! Although portion sizes are large we both wanted to see if the desserts matched the quality of our starters/mains. They did: apple and mixed berry crumble and a 'proper' in-house cheesecake. Yummo! Star of the show was definitely the food (quality, presentation) and indeed the chef(s) who prepared our meal. A very special mention however to the two wait staff/greeters: although the restaurant was full they whizzed around with smiling polite efficiency. They are a credit to the restaurant. Bill paid, drinks finished, full to the brim, our taxi arrived (on time) to take us home very contented. I suggest you book and go. Soon.More

My friend and I had only just arrived but this place was recommended by the shop assistant in the CO-OP at Bembridge. It was a busy Saturday night but we managed to get a table for 2 and just had a one course dinner. My...shredded lamb Wellington was really nice. Both lamb meals were of a good size, served hot and understandably took a while to arrive but I have no complaints. A good introduction to Island cuisine.More

We booked Sunday lunch but had to have later than we would have liked but we know why now - gorgeous food. It was fine by us as we got a drink and watched 45 minutes of scooters drive past on the IoW scooter rally...Sunday ride out. Perfect. The staff were flat out and very busy but continued to be friendly and polite. The roast was well portioned and the veg and meat cooked really well. Sitting outside and you have the planes taking off and landing from the airport behind. Very relaxing atmosphere and very lovely food. Oh and dog friendly.More

Lovely little place next to Bembridge airport. There was a delay in receiving our food but it was worth the wait and we understood that they were extremely busy. I had the scampi which was lovely. The Belgian waffles though was the stand out part,...they were scrumptious with the toffee sauce and ice cream.More
