Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a Sunday carvery which really disappointing! The Beef was tough, roast potatoes were cremated and hard. Poor selection of only 3 veg. There were no boiled/ mashed potatoes. The gravy was flavoured with the juices of the smoked meat which gave that taste...to all the food. We didn't stay for desserts and stated as we left that we were dissatisfied.More

We had a great night at The Bell Inn last night. Our food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The Smokey chilli was superb. We had a good few drinks each and were very pleasantly surprised by the bill. The atmosphere was very welcoming...and cosy and the couple working were lovely. They even dropped us back to our hotel so we didn’t have to walk! We highly recommend.More

We love it here and visit as often as funds allow - about once every other month. Sally is really lovely, knows us by name, our daughter (2) loves the goats and the dogs, and Sally always gives her raw veggies to feed to the...goats. The food is fab and the staff are lovely. Open fire in the winter too! One of our favourite places to go, especially for Sunday lunch. Thank you!More

Excellent drinking hole full of character, friendly staff and more friendly dogs than humans. A must visit for drinks or for food - we didn’t eat but everything looked and smelt delicious. Lovely ales on tap 🍺👍

Visited during our recent holiday in Devon. Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch, beef was beautifully tender. Despite declaring that he hated Sunday lunch, my grandson polished off a plateful of turkey and all the trimmings! 😂 Highly recommended 😊

First impressions can be misleading and they certainly were here! Immediate thoughts were that the place needed doing up and it was very quiet when we went in, but we were very early. However, owners really friendly and the customers too! Very dog friendly -...you need to like dogs as Patch is a resident at the pub. Fortunately, we do. The food was fantastic. Sea bass and Beef brisket excellent, really nice crispy chips, choice of side; we had Roasted vegetables. All really tasty and the meals were served hot. Put on your best country attire and visit this place! Don't go dressed up like I did though - I felt a bit over dressed in a dress and heels. This is a jeans and Barbour place! Oh, and take your dog, it will be made very welcome - ours is coming with us next time!More
