We visited The Stanley Arms this afternoon during our walk from Marbury Park to the Anderton Boat Lift. This was our second visit to this great establishment. As a party of eight we thought that dining (without booking) could have been a problem but the service was amazing and the food delicious. The choices of ales was good too. The... More

Just popped in for a coffee whilst walking along canal with friends. It was warm, clean, really nice and homely. Staff were so helpful and really friendly. Will definitely be coming back very soon for a meal, will be recommending to friends on this visit alone.

Came for a meal on Saturday, staff polite and friendly, it was warm and cozy, bit on the quiet side but this was to be expected due to weather and card machine being out of service which can't be helped. The bread and butter pudding is highly recommended

Living in the Area we were on walk and decided to pop in just for a pint before the journey home. They do cast ales which the other half was very pleased. He said it was the prefect pint and I just had a glass of wine looked at the menu and it looks very inviting and the food smelt... More

We've been twice now. First visit was a hot summers night. We were on a boat and moored up. The pub was rammed busy, but they found us a table for five, got us beautiful food and drink and did an amazing job. This was the second visit. Wet Friday afternoon, deserted pub. Food and service again faultless. Definitely recommend... More

A very nice pub which we have visited many times. However, this time there were too many kids running around shouting on the grassed area, up and down the steps, climbing over fences and playing on the decking area and generally annoying patrons. The parents were doing nothing to control them. It isn't the fault of the pub management or... More

This pub is within short walking distance of the Anderson Lift Locks & they even have a dock that you can tie your narrowboat up to while you are dining. This pub was recommended to us by the staff at Claymoore Canal Holidays. The food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and the prices very reasonable.

Nipped in for drinks we sat outside a nice big area for my little one to run around and it's lovely with the steps and seats leading down to the cannel but it did look rather dated. Only had drinks so can't rate the food. But the drinks were a good price will be doing again.

Stopped for lunch in the Stanley Arms when we were waiting for our slot to descend the boat lift. Nothing bad to say about the place really. We were in a group of 8 and all the food was well cooked and presented. The beer was well kept and a fair selection was available. The service was very attentive (to... More
