Was reccomended here and wasn't disappointed. Discreet but friendly staff and delicious food. The new season local asparagus with a poached egg (perfectly cooked) and hollandaise sauce was a treat and the Thai curry with chicken and prawns was beautifully cooked and presented. Afterwards, as the weather was lovely, we walked in the gardens and had a relaxing stroll in... More

I have visited the Mill periodically over many years. It is a venue with a superb ambience and it has never failed to impress. I was treated to a lunchtime birthday party by my family on 22nd April 17. Our party of 14 (aged from 3 upwards) We were immediately made to feel welcome and after drinks on the beautiful... More

We stopped at lunchtime by chance and sat outside in the warm April Sun on the terrace looking over the stream. Food was very good and freshly made.

Absolutely superb venue. The food was excellent, the staff were most attentive and helpful; the decor was lovely and the grounds were also a "wow". A party of twelve including three weenies had a wonderful afternoon on a glorious spring afternoon. It was just a fantastic experience and one which we can't wait to repeat. A gem in the beautiful... The first time I visited last year I thought what a jewel...and made a note to bring my wife... The disappointment was not in the ambience which is superb in fact the surrounding gardens as you enter the restaurant, the well laid out tables and the greetings all promised a special evening. Sadly the food let it down. There is,... More

We stumbled on The Mill via a recommendation and we were very pleased that we tried it. The welcome was fantastic, the ambiance was brilliant and the food was everything you would expect from a quality country pub. Superb!! We will make the effort to go again.

We stopped on the off chance for lunch whilst on holiday in the area. We had the choice of restaurant or bar, same menu. We sat in the bar with other diners. The staff here are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Wife and I really enjoyed our meal. Other diners seemed to as well.Recommended

We decided to celebrate Mothers Day a day early,as of course Sunday was fully booked. We enjoyably dined here a couple of years ago and this time was the same. The Mill is set in lovely grounds, which on such a sunny day are a delight for our young children to explore the interesting garden art. A choice of set... More

Dined here last Saturday (04/03/17) for my 50th, there were six adults in our party two of which had travelled from Manchester that afternoon to be with us. Table booked for 7pm we all arrived at 6.30pm for pre-dinner drinks, well that’s where it all started to go wrong! We entered the bar area and sat down after being greeted... More

I am sorry that you feel so disappointed with your recent dining experience. There is no excuse for the delayed service in the bar and I will address this internally. The restaurant was full but not over booked it was just a very pleasant pace for The Mill on a Saturday evening. We had adequate staff on duty, with the... More
