Came today for brunch for the first time and had a lovely meal. Staff very friendly and attentive and it had a great feel inside. Nice selection of breakfast items, opted for avocado on toast and added smoked salmon, husband had Eggs Benedict. Coffee lovely! The only reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5, was that the Eggs Benedict was on a fairly big bit of sourdough (great!) but only one poached egg, so half the breakfast was fairly dry. Not had an Eggs Benedict ever with just one egg … add one more and it would be a winner as plenty of ham and tasty hollandaise.

A lovely atmosphere and setting however the owners seem to misunderstand where they are located and what the place could be. It has the potential to be a great brunch spot with friends, lovely lunches and could be buzzing but Bank holiday Saturday and there were just a handful of people in. It’s very overpriced and the only thing on the menu is bagels ( unless it’s a weekend evening and then you can get pizza) Don’t get me wrong the bagel was nice but at £14 for a hunters chicken bagel I was both shocked and disappointed it came with no sides. Drinks were equally overpriced for the centre of a market town- central London prices - Service was good and friendly and as I say a great place but we won’t come back I’m afraid £46 for two bagels a two drinks just isn’t sustainable

Have previously visited on two occasions, no complaints at all. Today however was served by a male server with a condescending attitude . My friend who was with me was advising him on increasing his custom with a more varied menu. His comment was there is a sandwich shop next door. My friend has spent her life in business as a wedding planner and was extremely upset as his narrow mindedness and perhaps ageist attitude. We were just opening up a discussion Sad to say will be now avoiding the cafe

I popped in today to grab a takeaway coffee, unfortunately, they were all out of takeaway cups so I was seated. Service - I was incredibly shocked by the poor service to the point of being stunned into silence. Whilst drinking my coffee I was informed that my table was needed and asked to move to the table at the back. I was happy to oblige as I could see they were busy and recognised that a singular person occupying a two-person table was not sensible. I collated my belongings and had to carry my own drink and find the table on my own. It turned out the table at the back was the same size, but away from the other patrons and next to the toilets. Why i was asked to move is beyond me, clearly there is something about my person which meant i should sit away from everyone. I have honestly never experienced that poor level of service before. Coffee - Although the latte was presented in the correct glass, it was served on a plate and not a saucer so that the glass slide when returned to the plate. Typically a latte glass is presented on a saucer for functionality i.e. to avoid spillages, not aesthetics as this was. The coffee was a little too bitter for a latte. The steamed milk had too many large bubbles indicating the barista was inexperienced. This meant that rather than the silky smooth texture typical of latte's the milk was too dense and sat on top. I would not recommend M on the Square. Instead, good service go to Hummingbirds Coffee Bar & Bistro which a minute walk away or for good coffee to Brackley Central Cafe which is at the top of the road.

what a shame is lovely location is managed by an aggressive rude unprofessional manager. we arrive without booking on Mothers day which was quite , but not overly busy. we were seated and ordered drinks and food with 5 mins , which was very good. But alas we waited and waited & waited over half an hour. we asked after half an hour where and how long our food would be . The Manager then proceeded the tell me my order only went through at 11.22. around 10 mins after i placed it. upon me asking how much longer it would be he aggressively said he did not know & that 2 more orders were ahead of mine. The wait in any busy busy eatery is not the issue. we all know kitchen can be busy. My issue is with the Manager at M on the Square is the way he deals with it. at NO point did he apologize or try to easy the situation. he called me out to the hall away from the other customers ( i believe because the situation was not the 1st and he knows hoe aggressive he can get) . we left without having our food because we didn't want to wait another 1/2 hour.I must say though the rest of the waiting staff were exceptional. a real shame such a nice place is ruined by just one bad Manager.

Choice of prestigious wines complimented by Mediterranean-styled food creates a continental feel to this treasure of a wine and coffee bar. The service is outstanding- your host ensures you enjoy your visit, whether you want to be left alone, or to converse with the well-travelled staff. The decor perfectly aligns modern with the classical Georgian building adding to the chic trendy atmosphere. At night the lights are dimmed for a wine bar with fab music. Can’t wait for the lockdown to be lifted so we can visit again.

I can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a summer's evening than strolling down to M on the Square for a delicious freshly prepared sourdough pizza and a glass of wine in the beautiful surroundings of this restaurant, the interior is just right: cooling flagstone floors with doors and windows wide open allowing the sunshine and cool breeze to waft through the stunning space. M & Michael are lovely, warm and friendly and so hospitable. You can't help but think back to how the same wonderfully historic space was used as a market square all those centuries ago. They have brought an excellent contemporary twist to that historical space with terrific, expertly prepared and delicious dishes and a dedication to making sure each guest has a great experience. The menu is small, all freshly prepared pizzas with a huge choice of toppings and a terrific selection of wines. The perfect evening's treat and delicious food, what more could you ask for?

I’ve always admired Brackley Town Hall from the outside, and M on the Square has made this beautiful building just as lovely on the inside. The setting is absolutely perfect for an elegant evening with friends or a loved one. I enjoyed a gin whilst my friend had a glass of the Prosecco - both delicious and well presented. Staff were incredibly friendly and professional. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a waiter fill a customers glass from a bottle at the table. Such a lovely time, can’t wait to go back and try their brunch menu!

Nice ambience and friendly staff. Bagels..... But little else on offer. That said my crushed avocado 🥑 and smoked salmon was spot on. It just needs a menu that offers more variety..... Quiches, Homemade Soups would be great additions. Located in The Old Town Hall. Fully Licensed and Coffee/Cake for afters.

Lovely old building, excellent food and brilliant service. From the first smiled greeting to the little friendly chat as we left it was truly wonderful. The four young people running the place all seemed genuinely pleased to have as us guests, they worked well together and knew exactly what they were doing. Timing was spot on (not too fast, not too slow) and we felt special. Food being so good was almost paled by the outstanding service. Now desperately trying to think of a half-decent reason to travel back to Brackley to experience it all over again.

Nice building in town with good parking. Coffee was wishy-washy and a bit expensive. We just had pancake stack and a scone (expensive at £4-25). The prices are rather high but I guess I'm a bit biased because the coffee is so poor, the mocha tasted like Starbucks coffee with Cadbury drinking chocolate, I would expect better quality. Nice town, a convenient stop, we will try a different cafe next time.

We popped in on a Saturday evening after a disastrous experience elsewhere.. decided it was too early to go home and wanted to salvage the evening. It was the perfect place for a relaxing drink. We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff, the service was attentive but not too much, the surroundings are lovely, it was warm and inviting and to top it all off the wine was deliciousness! Will definitely be coming back, but leaving the car at home so we can try more wines!

This is a hard review to write as our servers were so lovely and polite and 2 out of 3 of our drinks were very nice but the hot coffee we ordered was extremely burnt and very bitter. That being said the iced coffee and smoothie we had were very nice. I feel a place with such nice staff and good location should definitely be offering a better coffee.

Visited here in the summer and enjoyed a drink outside watching the world go by and no complaints. Visited here very recently on a very cold evening. Menus given - small scrappy bits of paper. Crumpled and obviously been wet and handled by many. My friend orded a coffee which she couldn't drink straight away as in a glass with no handle. But the best was customer service from a young man. My husband looked at the menu, pointed and asked for a bottled cider. To be told, 'we don't have that, we're a wine bar' (???!!! ) You should have just stopped at 'we don't have that'

Iconic setting in the lower town hall. Excellent service, good choice of food from the menu give the current covid 19 restrictions. Extensive wine list, very tasty coffee. Good value for money.
