Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The last time we were here (pre-covid) the excellent Phillipe who runs the Saveurs de Thau was absent through illness, which we understand became quite serious. But he is back at the helm we were glad to see, and overseeing meals every bit as good...as before. The view is good of course as its harbourside, and the fixed price menus are great value (as is the vin en pichet). We mixed and matched the €26 and €30 menus so I had duck and my wife had the tournedos Rossini as mains. Tournedos Rossini on a fixed price menu for €30. Amazing value and really good quality. As my wife’s coupe Jamaican was being served for dessert we got chatting to the waiter who, as it turns out, has worked here for years but is originally from Cadiz. Glad to report that his alcohol pouring was straight from the generosity of Andalusia and my wife was somewhat inebriated as we sauntered back to the hotel. This restaurant is part of the furniture in Meze and if you visit this hidden gem of a harbour and beach you simply have to eat here. Phillipe told us that he is celebrating 20 years of serving food to the diners of Meze. It’s no surprise its lasted that long and is still going strong.More

Good food, priced well but the service - oh dear. Wont rush back! Refused to open non alcoholic wine without €10 corkage! I am not allowed alcohol, as a result all my chums chose water. (Their loss!) Had to ask several times for cutlery and...so on and so on.More

One of my favourite things about the French culture is the relaxed, long lunches but this place took that the nth degree!!!! We should have known there was something amiss when we were able to get a table, as the rest of the restaurants were...full to bursting. However the menu looked good and there were others in there so we decided this place will do. We ordered then waited, and waited, and waited and continued to wait. We were a party of six, four adults and two children.....the order of the arrival of the food is as follows: Child 1 main Adults 1&2 starters Adults 3&4 starters Adults 1&3 mains Adult 2&4 main Child 2 main (this took nearly 1.5 hours) Anyone that works in the food and drink industry knows you feed the children first!!! They didn't seem to care and just pottered about as if nothing was wrong, it was happening to all the tables. How it took so long to produce the food I don't know, it wasn't complicated, burgers, mussels, nuggets staples of he French diet. I would avoid at all costs unless you enjoy waiting. Food was passable to good but not worth the wait, hence only poor not terrible.More

Despite Covid this restaurant still excels, we normally lunch here at least 3 or 4 times during our stay and it has never let us down. Atmosphere is a warm welcoming regional restaurant. Friendly patron et staff. Food well presented and adequate.

The food was as delicious as usual, but a shame we had to wait 2 hours to get any. It was 2pm before we got our starter, and I appreciate we were a table of 10, but if they couldn't cater for us, then they...shouldn't have taken the booking (which I made a week beforehand) Instead of apologising for the delay, the owner was rather aggressive & muttering under his breath ! Shame, as it used to be one of my favourite restaurants, and it also put a damper on my birthday celebrations.More

We sat inside which was nice, a bit too chilly for outside. Husbands starter of gratinated mussels was very nice, my brochette of prawns were tasty, but a little overcooked which made them difficult to peel. The sea bass was lovely, very generous portion and...with a selection of real vegetables which was very nice. We had the cheeses for pud and yes, they were a little cold, but not to the detriment to the flavour. A nice selection and lovely crusty bread to go with it. We will definitely come here again and for us, it's closer than Marseillan.More

Oh, Le Saveurs de Thau is amazing! We went on our last night of our trip to Meze, after our friends had left, and it was just lovely. The food is beautifully cooked and presented. A lot of traditional French dishes, and really good seafood....Recommend booking.More

We have been coming to Meze for years but thought we’d try a different restaurant for dinner. It was a busy evening & could only book a table inside. We were still happy with our table as we had a lovely view of the port....We were served an aperitif on the house as we sat down, which was a nice welcome gesture. A huge choice on the menu, from a la Carte to 2 set menus & a good menu enfant. The best moules frites I’ve had so far (& I’ve had lots!) Definitely book, especially if you would like to sit outside. The restaurant was full, but we still had excellent service. Good to see the boss had a friendly presence. So pleased we gave this place a try, we shall be back!More

The food we had here was superb, great choice of seafood and all beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We dropped in to get a table for lunch but the beautiful seating area beside the port was fully booked. We...booked a table for later in the week and had our harbourside table and is was fantastic. Don't be disappointed book a table if you can, it is well worth it. We thought it was good value at 100e for 4 including wine.More

We have reviewed this restaurant twice before but each year we come back and it gets even better. Last night we visited again for the first time this year and we were not let down. The service is excellent and welcoming and the food we...had could not be faulted. A complimentary aperitif before the meal was a most pleasant and unexpected touch. This restaurant consistently serves high quality food at a good price.More

Not cheap eats at around 100 euros for two (including wine) and at best average. Service was confused, no bread or water offered, though delivered reasonably quickly when requested. A goat's cheese starter was very salty and the pancake in which the cheese was cooked...was too thick and leathery. A fish main course - duo de St Jacques et gambas flambees au muscat yielded two coquilles and three gambas - not a lot for the price. The lamb main course was good enough but (my fault for choosing another parcel?) again, wrapped in a pancake of sorts. An apple tatin wasn't what I understand a tatin to be - surely the pastry should be on the top of the apples and it took some cutting through. Coffee was good and the wines reasonably priced. If you are very lucky you might be able to park nearby otherwise you may have to trek a fair way. My French friends agreed with my reservations but we all thought that it was worth another try at some time in the future.More

We booked a table for four and liked the fact that we were offered a choice of either an outdoor table overlooking the water or an indoor one. We chose indoors and even though it was a Friday lunchtime in January the restaurant was busy...... always a good sign! We all chose the €22.50 menu and it was superb, lots of choice and it was absolutely delicious .... amazing value. We were the last in the restaurant but were not under any pressure to leave, even though it was past 3pm, what good service as well .... we will be back!More
