My husband and I visited for lunch and had the set menu for 36 euros each. Our expectation was that we would have a choice of the listed starters, but had all of them served us, with fresh bread. The main course was the clay-oven cooked roasted lamb, served with a simply dressed green salad. Only one of us had... More

May positive TA reviews, local recommendations and a nice atmosphere made me select El Pastor among the many options for lechazo (suckling lamb) in the town. I was glad I did. Food and service was superb and the local wine excellent value. I picked the lechazo menu for 38 Euro instead of the whole plate of suckling lamb (which I... More

I love Lamb and I must say this place is the best so far. Lamb was roasted in a classic stone oven..melt in your mouth type with just the right crisp on the outside..I will make sure to try another place like this when I get to Barcelona but I hear Aranda De Duero is the best place for roast... We decided to try this place because they offered a menu for 35eur that could have been great if shared. We were two. We were having dinner and we asked if it was possible to share a menu because we weren't that hungry. They refused to and immediately asked fo drinks. The service of our waitress was miserable. She just... More

I love trying new places but when something is this good you have to come back (and I have, countless times !!) There is no menu but what they do, they do well - lamb cooked in a clay oven, bread, green salad. Good selection of local wine as you would expect from the region. Fantastic

I have been visiting El Pastor for 22 years. First time, it was a "business lunch" with colleagues underway heading for Northern country. Soon after I took my family there and we have been doing this since though our hometown is 150 km away from Aranda. Great starters ( top quality food based on local products) and the highly recommended... More

Aranda de Duero – Dinner at Meson El Pastor on Plaza Vigencilla – This place just looked and smelled great, as it was crowded, noisy, and fronted by a very large and impressive wood burning brick oven (asador) from whose mouth beckoned the sight and smoky aroma of the regional specialty, “lechazo asado” (roast baby lamb, fed only on milk),... This restaurant has a very good roast lamb, which is called "lechazo" in Castilla y León. It is in the city center, near all other "asadores" (roasters) and the prices are very good. Quantities are enough and it is very recommended for travellers or family meetings.
