Ate here last night. Tasting menu superb. Service was good. Each course initially was served quite quickly after the previous one and we asked for 10/15 minute break between each course; which they did so very pleasantly. Only down side of visit was lack of...More

Nice restaurant with views to the vineyards of Marques the Riscal, the food is modern food based on the typical Spanish food. GOOD food and service . Try

We visited Spain with a family friend who wanted to visit the Hotel Marques de Riscal as part of our trip. We dined in the evening at the Restaurant 1860 Tradicion and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't recommend. Food is as good as several other restaurants in the region, but wine is more expensive than anywhere else in La Rioja. To give an idea: wine Finca La Imperatriz 2012, Parcela 1 cost 90 EUR in this restaurant, but only 34...More

The service at dinner was poor, and I'm not certain why, but breakfast service was outstanding. Food for both meals was excellent. I enjoyed the indoor restaurant, the outdoor was not open.

We had booked in advance for lunch as a celebration of a wedding anniversary and 50th birthday. We like architecture and good food and wine without the Michelin fripperies, so this restaurant seemed ideal. We were slightly early so had a drink first in the...More

We were staying at the hotel for Sunday evening and the main restaurant was closed. My wife and I had a small lunch in the wine bar earlier in the day, both the food and service were excellent. We expected a similar quality in 1860...More

We just came back from dinner and really quite enjoyed it! Possibly at par with last night's meal at the higher end resto here (one Michelin starred Marquis de Riscal). We went à la carte with a local bottle of wine and dessert wine with...More

We were booked in for the tasting menu here and it was a balmy night so we had a wonderful table outside on the terrace. I'd have been interested in the a la carte to see what else they do. I'm interested in a previous...More

We booked to dine here because we were staying in the hotel & the main restaurant was closed that night. First thing that struck me was that the restaurant did not have any great views. All tables were inside (it was May) & apart from...More

The casually chic "1860 Tradición" restaurant offers the opportunity to experience traditional Spanish cuisine with an exciting modern twist. Chef Francis Paniego's creative breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are based on fine local produce and the region's unique cooking styles. With its towering ceilings, dramatically angled walls, seductive curves and tilted windows the dining room exemplifies Gehry's unconventional approach to space. Walls adorned with large scale reproductions of his original sketches for the hotel encircle tables flanked with scarlet chairs and set with fine linens. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels frame the pretty village of Elciego along with the historic church of San Andres.
