After a busy morning driving around the region we arrived at Le Puzelle for a late lunch. They were still very welcoming and very busy. We were seated quickly and offered a very good selection of local cheeses, sausages, roasted peppers and breads, We moved outside to the terrace for dessert which was a cake with orange marmalade filling. This gave us the opportunity to take in the view which in these hilly, small, regional towns is always engrossing. Le Puzelle is a subscriber to agritourism; they certainly provided us with local flavours both with the food served, the attractive venue and the views of the surrounding region.

Chef Salvatore Vona has delighted our palates with dishes that are always different and all of excellent workmanship. In addition, he tried to always meet our needs (legumes, porcini mushrooms etc.). A tribute to his skill and professionalism.

My wife and I stayed at this family owned agriturismo which has nice rooms, a pool, fantastic food and a helpful staff fluent in English.
While visiting family in the area we stayed for 5 days. We organised a family dinner and ate some of the best food we’ve had in Italy.

Disappointing lunch, meanwhile they don't have a menu and the owner lists a series of dishes that you actually risk not having. Decent appetizer as well as one of the two first courses, enough the only discreet things were these. The other first course was inedible, overcooked bacon in a dish with artichokes that wasn't mixed at all. They served them with a dark liquid sauce that was nothing more than water and stock cubes. The best, however, comes to the second courses, after he had listed the beef to us when we sat down, when it's time to eat the first course he tells us that the beef is finished... So either pork or pork... as the another second course was the sausage...A lunch in which you put a fixed menu and force me to eat only pork. No chicken, no turkey, but that's not all. He tells us he serves pork leg with mushrooms, stringy pork slices arrive and served with the usual dark concoction of water and stock cubes. At that point we really couldn't stand it anymore, we didn't want the dessert that was said to be on the menu. We paid and left, one of the worst lunches I had in my life. I say but don't they ever think that a chef or a catering expert could sit at the table? How can you think of making fun of them like that?

Noi non pensiamo di prendere in giro nessuno e, rispondendo così anche alla sua prima domanda, ritengo un po' superbo da parte sua ritenersi l'unico "chef o esperto di cucina" che si è seduto ai nostri tavoli in 25 anni di attività, con questa sua domanda/affermazione sta praticamente dando dello stupido o dell' inesperto a tutte le persone che in 25 anni di attività ci hanno preferito e continuano a farlo.
Ad ogni modo faremo di tutto per cogliere positivamente questa recensione e avere degli spunti per migliorare però mi consenta anche di dire che sicuramente sarebbe più utile e formativo lasciare un feedback in loco e al momento del pranzo piuttosto che una recensione ore o giorni dopo a maggior ragione se è uno chef o un esperto di ristorazione, direi che sarebbe un obbligo in quel caso esporsi al momento.

Farmhouse surrounded by greenery, delightful and quiet place. The cuisine is all fresh, starter with home-made products, first course with fresh pasta. We didn't take the second one because the portions were generous. Delicate homemade dessert.
Friendly staff. The chef came out to ask us what we thought of the dishes and to explain his cuisine to us. Excellent reality.

The chef asked us what we would like to eat for dinner and he would give us some suggestions. “Your choice”, was our reply and we were never disappointed. The prices are reasonable, too.

I absolutely loved the food, the service, the location. We got an appetizer with capocollo, cheese, and other specialties accompanied by wine made in Ciro’. The bottle was only €22 and it was delicious. We also got different types of pasta. I would definitively come back here.

The meals cooked by Chef Salvatore Vona were skillfully prepared from fresh, local ingredients and served with love and extra care. So many dishes were memorable but some of our favorites were the pasta with arugula pesto, fresh prawns, pickled, (shredded) eggplant, and local sopressata. If you want more information about his cooking, check out his book sold on Amazon: A taste of Calabria: 140 Recipes from Southern Italy.
I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen myself and encountered great chefs. I have to say that Chef Salvatore has mastered turning the simple ingredients into sublimely delicious meals. He is so focussed and unassuming but you taste the talent! We talk a lot about "eating clean," so you will find it here!

Good food, very nice service! We enjoyed a prolonged lunch due the rain. The waiter was great, very attentive without pressure, good and fair recommendation. A lot of local people dinning, which is a good sign. Home made pasta and melanzane pastry simply great!
